Actor Vijay Antony last graced the silver screens in a cameo role in the romantic comedy movie Pookie helmed by Ganesh Chandra with actors Ajay Dhishan and R K Dhanusha in lead roles. The Shakthi Thirumagan actor is now gearing up for the release of his next Tamil Telugu bilingual film christened Appa Kutty. The Telugu version of the flick has been titled Nanna Kutty. Director Mu Maran, who entertained audiences with his craft in Iravukku Aayiram Kangal & Kannai Nambathey, has directed the drama. He has co-written the story of the film with writer Puthiya Parithi.
Actress Preethi Asrani of Ayodhi fame will be seen in the female lead role in the entertainer. Appa Kutty has been extensively shot in and around the neighborhoods of Madurai. The production house is eyeing to bring the film to theaters in the month of August. An official announcement regarding the release date is expected to be made soon. Meanwhile, the makers have released the first look poster of the flick on social media.

The first look poster of Appa Kutty has a black-eyed Vijay Antony carrying his sleeping daughter on his shoulder and holding an intense look on his face. Appa Kutty is touted to be an intense, poignant family drama centered on the unbreakable connection between a father and his daughter.
Apart from Vijay Antony and Preethi Asrani, the ensemble cast of Appa Kutty also has actors Bagavathi Perumal, Sanchana Natarajan, Lizzie Antony, Haripriya Isai, Chitra Lakshmanan, Munnar Ramesh, Muthu Kumar, Jenson Dhivakar, Muruganantham, Aruvi Madhan, and Praveena playing various supporting roles. Musician Vijay Antony will also be composing music and handling the editing department of the movie.
Cinematographer Rajeev Rajendran has taken care of the cinematography division of the entertainer. Art director A Raja has engineered sets for the movie. Action director Rajasekar has designed action moves for the venture. Appa Kutty is produced by Vijay Antony himself along with Meera Vijay Antony under the production banner Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
On the professional front, actor Vijay Antony is eagerly expecting a successive release in Nooru Sami helmed by Sasi in which he will be seen alongside actresses Lijomol Jose & Swasika Vijay, and Khaki directed by Senthil Kumar in which he has worked with actor Jai. The Kodiyil Oruvan actor is now busy with his next entertainer Lawyer crafted by Joshua Sethuraman in which he will be teaming up with actress Raveena Tandon, Valli Mayil scripted by Suseenthiran in which he will be romancing actress Faria Abdullah, Aayirathil Oruvan 2 filmed by Selvaraghavan in which he will be featuring with actor Dhanush, and an untitled flick with director Mandhira Moorthy.
