Actor Atharvaa Murali lastly entertained audiences in the hyperlink thriller movie Nirangal Moondru filmed by Karthick Naren with veteran actors Sarathkumar and Rahman in lead roles. The Semma Botha Aagathey actor is now getting ready for the release of his next crime thriller christened DNA. Director Nelson Venkatesh, who has an impressive track record to his name by delivering project like Oru Naal Koothu, Monster, and Farhana, has penned and crafted the film. Writer Athisha Vino has helped in molding the script of the flick.
Malayalam actress Nimisha Sajayan of Jigarthanda DoubleX fame has portrayed the female lead role in the venture. DNA was shot across multiple neighborhoods of Chennai. DNA is scheduled to release worldwide in theaters on 20th of June. The production house had recently released a couple of singles from the movie. They have now unveiled the trailer of the drama on social media.
Taking to his official X account, actor Atharvaa Murali himself dropped a couple of special posters along with a link to the trailer of DNA and expressed, “With all our love, presenting to you the trailer of DNA. In theatres near you from JUNE 20th 2025. Nimisha Sajayan, Nelson Venkatesh, Olympia Movies, Jayanthi Ambeth Kumar, Red Giant Movies.” Here is the post made by the actor.
Two minute trailer of DNA opens to the voiceover, “In the hearts of the wicked, the voice of evil echoes loud.” The scene cuts to a betrothal event where someone says to actress Nimisha Sajayan, “Do not count how many people are there. It is hard enough for normal women to find a suitable match.” Following which we witness actor Atharvaa being reprimanded by his dad, “Which girl would trust her life with a useless dog like you?”
The second half of the trailer takes a serious route with actress Nimisha Sajayan being cornered by everyone as someone suffering from some kind of mental illness. Earlier speaking to a leading media house about why he picked DNA as title, director Nelson Venkatesh revealed, “It is sort of an allusion to intrigue the audience. The word holds multiple layers to it. When someone hears it, many things come to mind. There could be a thread that connects all those things in the flick.”
The casting unit of DNA also features actors Karunakaran, Balaji Sakthivel, Riythvika, Ramesh Thilak, Chetan, Pasanga Sivakumar, Subramaniam Siva, and Viji Chandrasekhar. Musicians Sreekanth Hariharan, Pravin Saivi, Sahi Siva, D Sathyaprakash, and Anal Akash have handled musical gears for songs individually. While music director Ghibran Vaibodha has composed background score for the entertainer. Two singles from the entertainer ‘Kanne Kanave’ and ‘Feelingu Paatu’ have already found their way in to the playlist of youngsters.
Cinematographer Parthiban has been behind camera for the project. Editor V J Sabu Joseph has been employed to take care of the editing division of the venture. Art director C Uthayakumar has designed sets for the movie. Stunt man Don Ashok has fashioned action blocks for the flick. DNA is backed by Ambeth Kumar and Jayanthi Ambeth Kumar under their banner house Olympia Movies in association with Sanjay Shanmugam and Bharath Raj. Udhayanithi Stalin will be presenting the project under his production label Red Giant Movies.
