Actor Vijay had his last outing in the likes of the dark comedy drama Beast which hit the screens under the direction of Nelson Dilip Kumar with actress Pooja Hegde as female lead. The entertainer did not live up to the expectations of the audience and engendered a lot of trolls online. Despite all that, the movie went on to do well commercially. Now, the actor has moved on to his upcoming project christened Varisu. Director Vamshi Paidipally will be helming the movie. The entertainer went on floors earlier this year in the month of April with a small pooja ceremony. The production team has been shooting for the drama around the clock. Now, they have confirmed a new addition to the cast.
The production team has roped in actress Khushbu Sundar to essay a part in Varisu. The actress herself has shared the news on social media, and has expressed her happiness. Taking to her official twitter handle, the actress shared a picture of herself with actor Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, and wrote, “Extremely happy to be part of this family. In the snap shared by the actress, she is seen in a black attire posing to a selfie taken by actress Rashmika Mandanna. While actor Vijay stands behind them with a smile. The first look poster which had actor Vijay in a chic pose went viral on social media, and got the fans excited. Naturally, the expectations on the project have skyrocketed with the aficionados of the star are already pretty worked up about what they are going to do on the FDFS of Varisu. It is said that the production team is planning on bringing the flick to the theaters as a festive release for Pongal next year.
Story teller Vamshi Paidipally has written the story of Varisu along with writers Hari and Ahishor Solomon. Writer Vivek has penned the dialogues of the entertainer. Besides actor Vijay, Varisu has actress Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead role. The ensemble casting department of the movie has actors R. Sarathkumar, Shaam, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Yogi Babu, Jayasudha, Khushbu, Sangeetha Krish, Ganesh Venkatraman, Sriman, and Samyuktha Shanmughanathan playing various other supporting roles. The musical instruments for the drama will be handled by music director Thaman S. Cinematographer Karthik Palani will be behind the lens for the flick. Editor Praveen K. L has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the entertainer. The project is funded by Dil Raju along with Sirish for the banner label Sri Venkateswara Creations.
On the work front, actress Khushbu Sundar who was last seen on screens in a special appearance in Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming action drama titled Haraa helmed by filmmaker Vijay Sri G in which she has shared the screen space with veteran actor Mohan. On the other hand, actress Rashmika Mandanna who had her last outing in Tamil in actor Karthi’s Sulthan is currently busy shooting for her next Telugu venture Pushpa 2: The Rule under the direction of story teller Sukumar in which she will be seen alongside actors Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil, and for her Hindi venture titled Animal scripted by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga in which she will be co starring with actor Ranbir Kapoor. Besides these projects, the actress has a Hindi venture christened Mission Majnu helmed by film maker Shantanu Bagchi in which she has collaborated with actor Sidharth Malhotra in the post production getting fine-tuned for release.
