Popular small screen star Raju Jeyamohan lastly entertained audiences in a supporting role in Don crafted by Cibi Chakaravarthi with actors Sivakarthikeyan and Priyanka Mohan in lead roles. The Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma actor is set to turn lead hero with his upcoming movie titled Bun Butter Jam. Storyteller Raghav Mirdath, who is known for Kaalangalil Aval Vasantham, has inked and helmed the entertainer.
Actress Bhavya Trikha of Idi Minnal Kadhal fame has played the love interest of the actor in the flick. Malayalam actress Aadya Prasad will open her account in Kollywood with a pivotal role in the film. The makers have already publicized that the drama will be released in theaters worldwide on 18th of July in languages Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada.
Earlier this year the production unit had shared the teaser of the movie on social media. Now they have unveiled a special glimpse video from the flick. Taking to his official X account, actor Raju Jeyamohan dropped a link to the glimpse video of Bun Butter Jam and wrote, “Apdi College-la enna dhan nadandhuchu? Find out in the Bun Butter Jam – Stealer. Bun Butter Jam From July 18.” Here is the post made by the actor.
Four minutes of an odd glimpse of Bun Butter Jam opens to actor Raju Jeyamohan coming home late from college. His mother (Played by Saranya Ponvannan) opens the door and starts to reprimand him, “How long has it been since college ended? You think you have become a big man just because you have gone to college?” She later goes on to rebuke her husband, “You sit here and keep smoking. He is going to elope with someone.”
She then continues to reproach her son, “Come out now. I will see how you will stay in the room with the door locked. Chandru, open the door.” He comes out casually and tells her, “Stay calm. You are not this type of mother. You are a lovely mother.” She asks him to narrate the events of the day in college. As she serves him dinner, he starts to recount a funny scenario of how he admonished a girl for just calling him.
Earlier speaking about the film to a popular YouTube channel, Raghav Mirdath stated, “Bun Butter Jam is a complete Gen Z film. Today’s digital advancement has made life difficult as much as it has made it better. The advancement has got the youths distracted. They either stay in the past debacles or be anxious about what their future might be. The goal of the movie is to encourage them to live in the present.”
Elucidating about the romantic side in the story he revealed, “Despite the presence of two heroines Bun Butter Jam will not thread excessively in the lane of romcom. Today the audience has begun to receive stories that are different. In fact, they are expecting diverse plots. If the story is engaging, they go on to become blockbusters irrespective of whether they are small or big films. This gives us confidence to experiment a bit in both writing and making. I am confident that audiences across age will like Bun Butter Jam.”
The casting crew of Bun Butter Jam also has actors Saranya Ponvannan, Charlie, Devadarshini, Michael Thangadurai, and VJ Pappu. Music director Nivas K Prasanna has been roped in to handle musical instruments for the film. Two tracks ‘Etho Pesathane’ and ‘Diya Diya’ are already out from the entertainer.
Cinematographer IE Babu Kumar has been behind the lens for the flick. Editor John Abraham has been engaged to edit the movie. Art director Sri Sasi Kumar has erected sets for the drama. Action director Om Prakash has designed action moves for the flick. Bun Butter Jam is produced by Suresh Subramanian under the production house Rain of Arrows Entertainment.
On the professional front, actress Bhavya Trikha is presently occupied in her next movie Singanallur Signal helmed by J M Raja Saravanan in which she will be performing alongside actor Prabhu Deva. On the other hand, actress Aadya Prasad is working on her future venture 13 scripted by K Vivek in which she will be romancing actor G V Prakash Kumar.
