Actor Vetri had his last outing earlier this year in the action film Rajaputhiran helmed by Mahaa Kandhan with actress Krishna Priya as female lead. The Red Sandal Wood actor is now gearing up for his next release in the crime thriller flick titled Muthal Pakkam. Newbie director Anish Ashraf, former associate of story teller A R Murugadoss, has inked and crafted the movie.
Actress Shilpa Manjunath of Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum fame has played the female lead role in the flick. The makers have already announced that the entertainer will hit the screens worldwide on 1st of August this year. The production house had recently shared the teaser of the movie on social media. They have now dropped the trailer of the entertainer.
Actor Arya has unveiled the trailer of the project. Taking to his official X profile, actor Arya shared a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Muthal Pakkam and worded, “Happy to launch the gripping trailer of Chennai Files Muthal Pakkam. Wishing the team a huge success. Wishing the entire team great success! Catch it in theatres from August 1st. The two minute trailer of Muthal Pakkam begins with the voiceover of actor Samuthirakani, “A lion was ready to hunt a deer, but before that a fox with its cunningness killed the deer. Now the lion has decided that the next hunt is not a deer, it is the fox. However, not with cunningness, but with its strength. Because it is the lion.”
Then we have the intro of actor Vetri who says, “The law differs from country to country because it is written by ordinary people like you and me.” In a subsequent shot he explains to actor Thambi Ramaiah, “If he had carried the murder weapon, the blood drops on the floor would have gradually decreased.” The teaser ends with the villain talking to a trapped Shilpa Manjunath “Where are you? I am coming for you.”
Earlier talking in the audio launch function of the venture story teller Anish Ashraf revealed, “The title ‘Muthal Pakkam’ denotes the initial details of a real-life crime incident that took place in Chennai. My intent was to make a feature film out of it, and deliver a social message that would resonate well with the audience. I am confident that the pacy screenplay and fabulous performances will offer the audience a great cinematic experience.”
Besides Vetri and Shilpa Manjunath, the star cast of Muthal Pakkam also has actors Redin Kingsley, Thambi Ramaiah, Magesh Das, Subathra, and Arun Raj in various supporting characters. Music composer AGR has been brought on board to handle musical gears for the flick. Already two numbers ‘Vellai Mazhaye’ and ‘Vaada Vaada Maama’ are out from the album.
Cinematographer Arvind has cranked the camera for the movie. Editor V S Vishal has been bestowed with the responsibility to chop and patch the entertainer. Art directors Suresh and Venkat have worked in tandem to erect sets for the project. Stunt director Action Noor has designed action blocks for the drama. Muthal Pakkam is produced by Mageswaran Devadas along with Shandy Ravichandran under the banner house Sinnathambi Productions.
On the work front, actor Vetri has a couple of dramas lined up for release in Iravu directed by Jagadeesan Subu in which he has romanced actress Shivani Narayanan of Bigg Boss Tamil fame, and Eerappadham Kaattru Mazhai crafted by R Saleem in which he has costarred with actress Deepthie Orintelu. Beside these films, the Adharma Kadhaigal star has his long-delayed movie Theenkirai scripted by Prakash Raghavadass in which he has shared screen space with actor Srikanth in the box office awaiting release.
