Actor Vasanth Ravi had a release last year in the superhero action thriller movie Weapon crafted by Guhan Senniappan with actors Sathyaraj, Rajiv Menon, and Tanya Hope in pivotal roles. The entertainer was pinned with negative reviews by critics and left theaters unnoticed. The Pon Ondru Kanden actor will soon have the prospect to get back to the winning track with his upcoming film Indra.
Story teller Sabarish Nanda, who previously helmed the tv series Navarasa, has penciled and crafted the flick. Actress Mehreen Pirzada of Pattas fame has played the female lead role in the entertainer. Telugu actor Sunil has played a key role in the drama. Indra is poised to hit the screens on 22nd of August this year.
The audio and trailer launch event of the film took place recently in Chennai where the trailer was unveiled. The production team has now dropped the trailer on social media. Taking to his official X profile, actor Vasanth Ravi himself dropped the trailer of Indra and captioned it, “Indra Trailer is out. For those who love the thrill of the unknown, it is going to be full of surprises!! INDRA in Cinemas from Aug 22. Indra Audio And Trailer Launch.” Here is the post made by the actor.
Two minute trailer of Indra opens to a news bulletin, “This morning, near Adyar flyover, the police found a corpse of a young girl with her hands severed.” A cop (played by Kalyan Master) examines the body. Following which we have the voiceover of actor Nizhalgal Ravi, “It was done by a single man, in rage. He is definitely not mentally stable. We are dealing with a serial killer.” In the visuals we have actor Sunil behaving in a strange manner.
Subsequently we have a cop asking, “Any information on the severed hand found in the bus?” A character responds, “Looking at the hand and body, it belongs to a 30 – 35 years old male, sir.” Following which actor Kalyan Master informs, “This is not a normal murder case. Three murders altogether! That too in the same pattern!”
In a scene actor Rajkumar tells his blind friend (played by Vasanth Ravi), “We looked for his fingerprints in every database but we got nothing.” To which he enquires, “But how? How come he is able to live amongst us without an identity? We must catch him. We need an answer for all this.” We then have a few montages of actor Vansanth Ravi’s romantic life. The trailer ends with a rattled Vasanth Ravi shouting, “Who is that? Step out!”
Apart from Vasanth Ravi, Mehreen Pirzada, and Sunil, the star cast of the project also has actors Anikha Surendran, Kalyan Master, Rajkumar, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Mime Gopi essaying various supporting roles. Music composer Ajmal Tahseen has handled musical gears for the movie. Cinematographer Prabhu Raghav has worked on the cinematography department of the flick.
Editor K L Praveen has been brought on board to chop and patch the drama. Art director Muni Paulraj has engineered sets for the movie. Stunt director Vicky has designed action moves for the film. The project is funded by Jaffer Sadiq under the production house JSM Movie Production in association with Irfan Malik for the production label Emperor Entertainment.
On the work front, actress Mehreen Pirzada will soon make her debut in Kannada via Nee Siguvaregu helmed by Ram Dhulipuddi and Ramakrishna Dhulipuddi in which she will be co-starring with actor Shiva Rajkumar.
