Actor G V Prakash Kumar recently had a release in the digital space in the children’s comedy drama Lucky The Superstar crafted by Uday Mahesh with actress Anaswara Rajan as female lead. The Watchman actor is now awaiting the release of his next movie titled Happy Raj. Newbie director Maria Raja Elanchezian, former associate of director & actor Pradeep Ranganathan, has inked and helmed the venture.
Actress Sri Gouri Priya of Lover fame has played the female lead role in the movie. Happy Raj is all set to hit the screens on 27th of March this year. The production house has already begun to promote the flick. As part of it, they unveiled a vibe check video and first single from the album on social media. They have now launched the second single.
Taking to their official X profile, the team of Saregama South dropped a small clip from the song ‘Thuru Thuru’ from Happy Raj and worded, “A heartfelt melody for every father and son . . . Veteran director and musician Gangai Amaran and Master S Jaahanv have crooned the number. Lyricist Vivek has penned lyrics for the track. The song is mixed by Balu Thankachan and mastered by Gethin John. Dance choreographer Manichandra has designed dance moves for the number. Music composer Justin Prabhakaran has scored music for the drama. Already a song ‘Aadiney Irupen’ in the voice and lyrics of Gana Vinoth is out from the album.
Earlier talking to a leading media house about the title, story teller Maria Raja Elanchezian stated, “There is nothing extraordinary behind it. My intent is to craft an entertainer that makes people profoundly happy. Tamil cinema is used to taking audiences to a euphoric state with mass entertainers that induce adrenaline rush. But of late with the advent of social media, I feel there has been unfiltered negativity, and a sense of despair among people.”
Speaking further he expressed, “I felt the need to make a film that would infuse joy and be a counteragent to despair. Even the protagonist in the story is named ‘Happy’. You will hear the name numerous times throughout the film. As it reflects the essence of the plot. I am confident that the audience will experience optimism and have a feeling of positivity when they leave theaters.”
Star cast of Happy Raj also includes veteran actor Abbas, Geetha Kailasam, Sofa Boy Rasool, George Mariyam, Adhirchi Arun, Devi Mahesh, Madurai Muthu, and Prathana Nathan. Cinematographer Madhan Christopher has shouldered camera for the film.
Editor Selva R K has overseen the editing department of the flick. Art director Ayyapan has erected sets for the movie. Stunt master Om Siva Prakash has choreographed action blocks for the project. Happy Raj is backed by Jayavardhanan in collaboration with Jaikanth Suresh under the banner house Beyond Pictures.
On the work front, actor G V Prakash Kumar will soon have his next release in Immortal helmed by Mariyappan Chinna in which he has shared screen space with actress Kayadu Lohar. He also has a bunch of his delayed films Adangathey directed by Shanmugam Muthuswamy in which he has teamed up with actress Surbhi Chandra, 4G scripted by Venkat Pakkar in which he has romanced actress Gayathri Suresh, and 13 helmed by Vivek K Kannan in which he has performed alongside actresses Aadya Prasad and Bhavya Trikha.
The Dear actor is now busy with his future project Mental Manadhil helmed by Selvaraghavan in which he will be partnering with actress Madhuri Jain, Kadhalikka Yarumillai directed by Kamal Prakash in which he will be working with actress Raiza Wilson, and Idi Muzhakkam filmed by Seenu Ramasamy in which he will be joining forces with actress Gayathrie.
