Actor Sivakarthikeyan last graced the silver screen in the biographical action war drama Amaran directed by Rajkumar Periasamy with actress Sai Pallavi in the female lead role. The Namma Veettu Pillai actor is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming action thriller Madharaasi. The Hindi version of the film is titled as Dil Madharasi. Story teller A R Murugadoss will be returning to Tamil cinema nearly after five years with the project. Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth of Ace fame has been paired with the actor in the venture.
Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal of Thuppakki fame has played the antagonist role in the entertainer. The project was shot across various regions of Chennai, Thoothukudi, Pondicherry, and Sri Lanka. The project has been made with a whooping 200 crore budget. The production unit has already announced that the drama will be making it to theaters worldwide on 5th of September in languages Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Earlier this year on actor Sivakarthikeyan’s birthday, the production team had unveiled a glimpse video from the movie on social media. They have now released the first single from the album.
Taking to their official X handle, the production team of Sri Lakshmi Movies dropped a special poster along with a link to the first single ‘Salambala’ from Madharaasi and wrote, “Enjoy the SALAMBALA VIBE. Music director Anirudh Ravichander has scored music for the film. He is joining forces with actor Sivakarthikeyan for the eight time after their chartbusters in Ethir Neechal, Maan Karate, Kaaki Sattai, Remo, Velaikkaran, Doctor, and don. Musician and singer Sai Abhyankkar has lent his voice for the track. Lyricist Super Subu has written lyrics for the song. The number is mixed by M Srinivasan, Vinay Sridhar, S Shivakiran, and Rajesh Kannan. Mastered by Rupendar Venkatesh.
Choreographer Brindha Gopal has choreographed dance moves for the track. The short glimpse clip which was released earlier this year had a tense setting with a series of bomb blasts with a bloodied Sivakarthikeyan beating up a few henchmen in a car factory. The venture was initially titled as Madharasi but was later recognised as Madharaasi.
Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, Rukmini Vasanth, and Vidyut Jammwal, the casting crew of the entertainer also has actors Biju Menon, Vikranth, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Prem Kumar, Sachana Namidass, Sanjay and Yaseetharan Ratnakumar depicting various supporting roles. Cinematographer Sudeep Elamon has handled camera gears for the flick.
Editor A Sreekar Prasad has been contracted to work on the editing division of the movie. Art director Shanmugaraja has fashioned the background for the flick. Action master Kevin Kumar has choreographed action moves for the entertainer. The project is funded by N Srilakshmi Prasad under the production label Sri Lakshmi Movies. Actor Kamal Haasan is said to present the drama under his production company Raaj Kamal Films International.
On the professional front, actor Sivakarthikeyan is busy shooting for his upcoming political period film Parasakthi crafted by Sudha Kongara in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Jayam Ravi, Atharvaa, & Sreeleela, Ayalaan 2 scripted by R Ravikumar, and a flick tentatively titled SK 26 which is directed by Vinayak Chandrasekaran of Good Night fame.
On the other hand, actress Rukmini Vasanth is presently engaged in her next Telugu venture tentatively titled NTR 31 directed by story teller Prashanth Neel of KGF fame in which she will be seen alongside actor Jr NTR.
