Actor Dhruv Vikram was last seen on screens back in 2022 alongside his father Vikram in the gangster action thriller drama Mahaan crafted by Karthik Subbaraj. The Varmaa actor will soon have a release nearly after three years via the sports drama Bison. Story teller Mari Selvaraj, who is known for movies like Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan, has inked and helmed the venture.
Actress Anupama Parameswaran has been paired with actor Dhruv Vikram for the first time in her career. Malayalam actress Rajisha Vijayan of Jai Bhim fame has portrayed a prominent part in the entertainer. Bison is slated to hit the screens as a festive release for Deepavali of this year on 17th of October. The production house has already begun to promote the flick across various platforms. As part of it, they have now released the second single from the album on social media.
Taking to his official X handle, director Mari Selvaraj himself dropped a couple of special posters along with a link to the second single ‘Rekka Rekka’ from Bison and wrote, “காட்டுயானைக்கு ஒரு பாத உன் கால்கள் தேடட்டும் புது பாத பூமி சுத்துது உனக்காக புகுந்து புறப்படு புயலாக . . . Rekka Rekka Out Now. Bison Kaalamaadan. Bison Kaalamaadan From Diwali. Bison Kaalamaadan On Oct 17.” Here is the post made by the story teller.
Singers Arivu and Vedan have crooned the track. Arivu has also written the lyrics for the song along with director Mari Selvaraj. The number is mixed and mastered by K S Maniratnam. Music composer Nivas K Prasanna has scored music for the flick. Already a single ‘Theekkoluthi’ is out from the album.
Earlier speaking to a popular YouTube channel actress Anupama Parameswaran stated, “Bison will be one of the most special and important films in my career. It is a beautiful movie with a powerful story. I think it will be one of Mari sir’s best works. His debut project Pariyerum Perumal had a profound impact on me. In fact, I became his fan after watching it.”
Bison is hyped to be a sports film predicated on Kabbadi inspired by the life of Arjuna award recipient Manathi Ganesan. The casting crew of the entertainer also includes Malayalam actor Lal, Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Madhan Dhakshinamoorthy, Azhagam Perumal, Aruvi Madhanand, and Hari Krishnan Anbudurai.
Cinematographer Ezhil Arasu K has taken care of the cinematography department of the entertainer. Editor Sakthi Thiru has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the flick. Art director Kumar Gangappan has engineered sets for the project. Action director Dhilip Subbarayan has designed action blocks for the venture.
Bison is backed by Pa Ranjith under the production label Neelam Studios in affiliation with Aditi Anand, Deepak Seigal, and Sameer Nair for the banner house Applause Entertainment. Kathiresan of Five Star Creations has acquired the theatrical rights of the entertainer. Post theatrical rights of the drama have been bought by Netflix OTT platform.
On the work front, actor Dhruv Vikram is currently engaged in his next untitled project helmed by story teller Ajay Bhupathi. There are also rumors that he will play the lead in the Tamil remake of the hit Hindi film Kill directed by story teller Nikhil Nagesh Bhat.
On the other hand, actress Anupama Parameswaran will next be seen on screens in Malayalam cinema via Lockdown crafted by director A R Jeeva in which she has performed alongside actress Abhirami. The Dragon actress is currently busy shooting for her upcoming Malayalam movie El Clasico helmed by story teller Rosh Rasheed in which she will be sharing screen space with actor Shane Nigam, Pet Detective scripted by Praneesh Vijayan, and a Telugu entertainer Bhogi filmed by director Sampath Nandi in which she will be collaborating with actors Sharwanand and Dimple Hayathi.
