Actor Jayam Ravi who had a release in Bhoomi last year is yet to have a release this year. But the actor is preparing himself for a grand year of his career with the release of the first installment of Ponniyin Selvan poised to hit the theaters on 22nd of September this year in which he has essayed the part of renowned ancient Tamil king Arulmozhivarman. The actor had been simultaneously shooting for his next venture titled Agilan. Director N. Kalyan Krishnan who helmed actor Jayam Ravi in the much talked about drama Bhooloham has written and directed the drama. Actresses Priya Bhavani Shankar and Tanya Ravichandran will be seen in the female lead roles. The shooting of the project got wrapped by the end of last month. The production house had announced the news by sharing the making video of the movie.
Now we have news that the post production work of the project is happening in full swing. The entertainer has some high-octane action sequences which were shot live out in the Indian Ocean. The VFX are deployed to bring out the best out of these portions. It is said that the production house is in plans to bring the flick to the theaters before Ponniyin Selvan. However, an official confirmation is awaited on the same.
Agilan will have actor Jayam Ravi in dual roles – a navy officer and an ordinary youngster. Apart from actors Jayam Ravi, and Priya Bhavani Shankar, the film has actors Hareesh Peradi, Chirag Jani, Harish Uthaman, Tarun Arora, Elango Kumaravel, Shaan Kakkar, Aarash Shah, and Madhusudhan Rao essaying various other supporting roles. The music for the flick is composed by music director Sam C. S. Cinematographer Vivekanand Santhosham has cranked the camera for the drama. The editing department has been handed over to editor Praveen Anthony. The entertainer has been bankrolled by Parthasarathy Gokulyadav, and Sundar Arumugam under the banner house Screen Scene Media Entertainment.
On the work front, actor Jayam Ravi who was last seen on screens in Bhoomi is currently getting ready for a consecutive release. He is awaiting the release of the much-anticipated epic historical drama Ponniyin Selvan helmed by auteur Mani Ratnam in which he has shared the screen space with an ensemble cast. Following it he will have a release in Jana Gana Mana which is directed by film maker Ahmed in which he has romanced actress Taapsee Pannu.
On the other hand, actress Priya Bhavani Shankar who was last seen on screens in Hostel is currently busy shooting for her upcoming flick christened Pathu Thala directed by Obeli N. Krishna in which she will be seen alongside actors Gautham Karthick and Silambarasan. Apart from this venture, the actress has a bunch of projects poised for a successive release. First of which will be Yaanai under the directorial of Hari in which she has paired up with actor Arun Vijay, Thiruchitrambalam filmed by storyteller Mithran Jawahar in which she has co starred with actor Dhanush, Kuruthi Aattam helmed by Sri Ganesh in which she will be seen alongside actor Atharvaa, Bommai filmed by storyteller Radha Mohan in which she will be romancing actor S J Suriya, Rudhran directed by film maker Kathiresan in which she has shared the screen space with actor Raghava Lawrence. She also has her long-delayed venture Indian 2 in her pipeline.
