Actor Mirchi Shiva last graced the silver screen in the sports comedy venture Sumo scripted by S P Hosimin with actress Priya Anand as female lead. The Adra Machan Visilu star will soon have a release in the upcoming drama Paranthu Po. Director Ram, who has interesting works under his name like Kattradhu Thamizh, Taramani, and Peranbu, has written and directed the movie.
Paranthu Po will mark actress Anjali’s second collaboration with actor Mirchi Shiva after their celebrated comedy film Kalakalappu. Well-known Malayalam star Aju Varghese will expand his acting career into Kollywood with his supporting role in the flick. Parandhu Po is scheduled to release in theaters worldwide on 4th of July.
The production house has been promoting the film by dropping singles from the drama on social media. They have now dropped the trailer of the entertainer. Taking to his official X account, director C S Amudhan unveiled the trailer of Paranthu Po and captioned it, “Director Ram is one of the most original voices & one of my favorite film makers in Tamil but I have serious issues with this trailer. It is just not acceptable to call Shiva a bad dancer. Beyond that I wish the team all the very best!” Here is the post made by the story teller.
Two minute trailer of Paranthu Po opens to Shiva’s child asking, “Promise me we will stay here!” His mother asks, “Where?” He responds, “Where there is the hill, the pond, the football ground, and friends to play with.” The shot cuts to him sending a heart emoji to his classmate while on an online session. Upon enquiring he responds to his teacher, “Your classes are very boring, miss.” We then learn that he is a latchkey child.
We have a scene where he tells his parents, “I do not like you both. I only like Kumar’s parents.” Following which we see Shiva saying, “We are doing everything we can for him.” In the subsequent shot, we see Shiva’s neighbor advising him, “Please take him out. We even take our dog, Zoey, out every day.” The trailer ends with the voiceover of director Ram, “For every parent struggling to succeed for their kids . . .”
Apart from Mirchi Shiva, Anjali, and Aju Varghese, casting crew of Paranthu Po also has actors Balaji Sakthivel, Vijay Yesudas, Sreeja Ravi, Tejaaswini, Grace Antony, Master Mitul Ryan, Jesse Kukku, and Dia in various supporting roles. Musician Santhosh Dhayanithi has been contracted to score music for the movie. Already three songs ‘Sunflower’, ‘Daddy Romba Paavam’, and ‘Kashtam Vandhaa’ are out from the album.
Cinematographer N K Ekhambram has cranked the camera for the film. Editor V S Mathi has been brought on board to edit the flick. Art director M R Rajashekaran has erected sets for the entertainer. Stunt master Stunt Silva has fashioned action blocks for the project.
Paranthu Po is funded by Ram himself under his home production Seven Seas And Seven Hills Productions partnering with V Gunasekaran, V Shankar, and V Karupuchaamy for the production house GKS Bros Production along with Jio Hotstar. Raahul will be presenting the entertainer under the banner house Romeo Pictures.
On the work side, actor Mirchi Shiva is engaged in his next entertainer Saloon crafted by Muthukumaran, Kalakalappu 3 scripted by Sundar C in which he will be joining forces with actor Vemal, and Golmaal directed by storyteller Pon Kumaran in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Jiiva, Payal Rajput, and Malavika. Beside these projects, the Vanakkam Chennai star has his long-delayed venture Party helmed by Venkat Prabhu in which he has associated with actors Jai, Ramya Krishnan, Sanchita Shetty, Jayaram, Regina Cassandra, Sathyaraj, and Nivetha Pethuraj in the trunk awaiting release.
On the other hand, actress Anjali is presently working on her next female centric flick Eegai helmed by director Ashok Velayutham.
