The Coolie festival is almost near us. Not just the aficionados of Rajinikanth but millions of people across the globe are eagerly waiting for the release of his upcoming mass action thriller Coolie. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has inked and crafted the entertainer. Writer Chandhru Anbazhagan has penned dialogues, and aided in shaping the screenplay of the film.
Actress Shruti Haasan has teamed up with actor Rajinikanth for the first time in her career. Veteran actor Sathyaraj is said to have depicted the part of villain in the entertainer. The shoot for the project took place across various places in Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Bangkok. Coolie is slated to release in theaters worldwide on 14th of August in languages Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
The makers have been aggressively promoting the movie across all platforms. They had launched the trailer of the drama recently on social media. They have now shared a lyrical video song featuring Nagarjuna. Taking to their official X handle, the production team of Sun Pictures released a small clip from the lyrical video of ‘I am The Danger’ from Coolie and captioned it, “The swag-overloaded I am The Danger is out now! Coolie. Coolie releasing worldwide August 14th.” Here is the post made by the production unit.
Music director Anirudh Ravichander has scored music for the song. It is his fifth affiliation with superstar Rajinikanth after their mega success in Petta, Darbar, Jailer, and Vettaiyan. He has also lent his voice to the number along with singer Siddharth Basrur. Lyricist Heisenberg has penned lyrics for the track.
The song is mixed by M Srinivasan, Vinay Sridhar, S Shivakiran, and Rajesh Kannan. It is mastered by Luca Pretolesi. The trailer of the entertainer which was released recently enjoyed a spectacular reception among the audience, and went on to clock millions of views in a short span.
Apart from Rajinikanth, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan, the star-studded cast of Coolie also has Tollywood star Nagarjuna, Kannada megastar Upendra, Reba Monica John, Soubin Shahir, Kaali Venkat, Charle, Kanna Ravi, Rachita Ram, Monisha Blessy, Tamizh, Rishikanth, and Junior MGR portraying various supporting characters. Actress Pooja Hegde has grooved for the sensation song ‘Monica’. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has played a power packed extended cameo part in the venture.
Cinematographer Girish Gangadharan has handled camera gears for the flick. Editor Philomin Raj has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the entertainer. Art director P Shanmugam has engineered sets for the project. Stunt masters Anbu and Arivu have choreographed action blocks for the drama. The flick is backed by Kalanithi Maran under his home banner Sun Pictures.
On the work side, actor Rajinikanth has completely dedicated himself to his next venture Jailer 2 crafted by director Nelson Dilipkumar in which he will be partnering with actors S J Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa Menon.
On the other hand, actress Shruti Haasan will soon be seen on screens in Jana Nayagan scripted by H Vinoth in which she has worked alongside actors Vijay & Pooja Hegde, and in an extended cameo appearance in Train helmed by Mysskin with actor Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The Putham Pudhu Kaalai actress is busy shooting for her upcoming Telugu project Salaar: Shouryanga Parvam Part 2 helmed by Prashanth Neel in which she will be sharing screen space with actor Prabhas.
