And he managed to turn the attention of the audience towards his way on his very first flick. He followed it with the action-comedy drama Jigarthanda which had actors Siddharth and Bobby Simha in the main roles. The entertainer received critical acclamations from critics and audience alike. The film enjoyed a great reception among the audience and became a cult classic of Tamil cinema. Director Karthik Subbaraj is fresh from the release of last directorial Mahaan with actor Chiyaan Vikram in the lead. While all eyes were on him anticipating whom the director is about to direct next, he places a twist in the tale just like he does in his films. Nearly after 8 years of Jigarthanda film maker Karthik Subbaraj has pleasantly surprised the audience by coming up with a sequel of the venture. It is said that the director is in plans to rope in choreographer and actor Raghava Lawrence to play the lead role in the flick. Well, who anticipated that move? There is also news that Bobby Simha is all set to play the character Sethu that he essayed in the first installment. Apart from them an actor with a pan India presence is expected to be part of the project. The official announcement regarding the same, and the rest of the cast and crew that would be part of the flick is expected to be made soon.
Well, it would be interesting to see what character will actor Raghava Lawrence be playing in the film. A rival mobster to Sethu? It is said that the drama will be funded by a producer close to actor Raghava Lawrence. The production house is in plans to launch the film by October of this year and release it in the summer of 2023.
On the work front, director Karthik Subbaraj who had a release in Mahaan recently, has penned the story for film maker S. Shankar’s untitled Telugu drama with actor Ram Charan. On the other hand, actor Raghava Lawrence who has not had a release in two years is currently busy shooting for his next drama titled Rudhran under the direction of story teller Kathiresan in which he will be sharing the screen space with actress Priya Bhavani Shankar, and for Adhigaaram directed by Durai Senthil Kumar.
