From the point when actor Santhanam decided to ditch playing a comedian and started to take up only lead parts, the velocity at which the actor used to churn out films has decelerated. Almost all his projects get caught in some sort of problem and get delayed. The actor was last seen on the comedy drama Sabhaapathy which hit the screens under the direction of film maker R. Srinivasa Rao with actress Preeti Verma in the female lead role. The entertainer ended up being a box office disaster. The Sakka Podu Podu Raja actor has moved from it, and is currently gearing up for the release of his next movie titled Gulu Gulu. Director Rathna Kumar of Meyaadha Maan fame has helmed the drama. Actress Athulya Chandra has played the female lead role in the flick.
The project which went on floors sometime back got wrapped in the month of April. The flick is getting tuned in the post production stage at present. Now, the production house has unveiled the teaser of the venture on social media. Actor Santhanam himself has shared the teaser. Taking to his official twitter handle, the actor shared the teaser of the film and wrote, “Presenting Gulu Gulu teaser. Need your support.” Here is the teaser shared by the actor.
The nearly two minutes long cut opens with two robbers wearing a face mask of veteran actors Sivaji and Padmini trying to abduct someone. One of them try to scare the victim, while the other comically begs with him to come with them. Then we have a character’s voiceover telling us, “A guy, with no seriousness at all, gave us an idea. We took it seriously and worked on it. Things went haywire.” Then we have the villain’s intro. Towards the middle of the teaser, a character cracks a one-liner, “If you have jokers around then even a fool will appear to be smart.stylish ” Actor Santhanam has a fantastic slow motion shot with a gang of old folks with a thumping background score. The teaser ends with the heroine asking for the name of actor Santhanam, a bunch of small children begin to spell google, but the enunciation goes out to be Gulu Gulu.
It is said that the production house is in plans to bring the movie to theaters in the month of August this year. Apart from actors Santhanam and Athulya Chandra, the film has actors Namitha Krishnamurthy, Pradeep Rawat, Mariyam George, Sai Dheena, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Lollu Sabha Seshu, TSR Bipin, Kavi, Harish, Yuvaraj, and Mauri Dass in various other supporting roles. Music director Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music for the entertainer. Cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kanna has cranked the camera for the film. Editor Philomin Raj will be taking care of the editing department. The entertainer is bankrolled by S Raj Narayanan under the banner house Circle Box Entertainer.
On the work front, actor Santhanam who is getting ready for the release of Gulu Gulu is currently busy shooting for Server Sundaram which is filmed by storyteller Anand Balki. Apart from this project, the actor has Agent Kannayiram directed by film maker Manoj Beedha in which he has shared the screen space with actress Riya Suman, shaping up in the post production for release.
