Director Pa Ranjith is known for his sharp political films which are in no way compromised on its creative and artistic façades. His last directorial was the critically acclaimed Sarpatta Parambarai with actor Arya in the lead. Despite its release in the OTT streaming platform the movie won the hearts of the audience and went on to bag a massive collection. The Madras film maker who is fresh from the success of the entertainer has wrapped up his next project titled Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, and is now gearing up for the release of it. Actors Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Kalaiyarasan have played pivotal roles. The first look poster of the flick got the attention of the audience and piqued their curiosity.
Now, the production unit has dropped the teaser of the movie on social media. Director Pa Ranjith has shared the teaser. Taking to his official twitter handle the director shared the teaser of the movie and wrote, “Love is political! Bringing you the Natchathiram Nagargiradhu.” Here is the teaser shared by the film maker.
The two-minute short video has multiple characters expressing their perspective about love. The best thing about Natchathiram Nagargiradhu is, it also includes the viewpoint of people from the LGBTQIA+ community. Some of whom have a positive view on love while some have a negative opinion. A character says, ‘Love is political.’ Another states, ‘Love is the only element that has the power to shatter gender perceptions.’ The teaser ends with people from the other parts of the world adding to the perspective about love. The teaser is more sort of used like a character introduction ceremony. Even with just a couple of words from the characters one could tell that every character seems interesting. But for now, we will have to wait to see how this experiment of Pa Ranjith turns out.
Apart from actors Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Kalaiyarasan, the casting department of the drama has actors Hari Krishnan, Vinoth, Subathra Robert, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Regin Rose, Damu, Gnanaprasad, Vinsu Rachel Sam, Arjun Prabhakaran, Uthaiya Surya, Stephen Raj, Sherin Celin Mathew, and Manisa Tait in various other supporting roles. The music for the venture is composed by Tenma. The cinematography department has been taken care of by cinematographer Kishor Kumar. The entertainer is trimmed by editor Selva RK. Art director L Jayaragu has erected the sets for the drama. The film is bankrolled by director Pa. Ranjith for the banner house Neelam Productions and Vignesh Sundaresan for production house Yaazhi Films.
On the work front, director Pa Ranjith is busy with multiple projects in his pipeline. He is busy with the pre-production works of his project with actor Vikram, for Vettuvam, and a venture based on the life of Birsa Munda. On the other hand, actor Kalaiyarasan who was last seen on screens in Kuthiraivaal will soon have a release in Titanic Kadhalum Kavundhu Pogum filmed by storyteller M. Janakiraman in which he has co starred with actress Anandhi. The actor is currently busy shooting for a supporting role in his next film titled Pathu Thala helmed by director Obeli N. Krishna in which he will be sharing the screen space with actors Silambarasan, and Gautham Karthik. Apart from this, the actor also has his long-delayed movie Puthiya Mugam scripted by story teller Sriram Dhanabalakrishnan in his pipeline awaiting release.
