Actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj who made his debut in Tamil cinema with Sakkarakatti has been without a solid commercial success for a while. The Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam actor had his last outing in the likes of the anthology web series Story Of Things which hit the SonyLIV OTT video streaming platform under the directorial of storyteller George K Antoney with actors Aditi Balan, Vinoth Kishan, and Anshita Anand in the lead roles. The series opened to mixed reviews from critics, and is yet to garner the attention of the audience. The actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his next movie titled Raavana Kottam. Actress Kayal Anandhi has essayed the female lead role in the flick. Director Vikram Sugumaran of Madha Yannai Koottam fame has written and helmed the film. The project which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony some time ago, was wrapped by the end of 2021. Due to some reasons best known to the production unit the entertainer got delayed. However, the project is finally done and dusted ready for release.
The production unit has now shared the first single track ‘Athana Per Mathiyila’ from the drama on social media. Actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj himself has unveiled the first single. The lyrical video introduces actors Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Kayal Anandhi in school uniform then roll on to show them as adults running around on the beach and driving around in motorbike. Singers Yazin Nizar and Vandana Srinivasan have crooned the song under the music of Justin Prabhakaran. Lyricist Karthik Netha has penned lyrics for the romantic number. Raavana Kottam is said to be a romance drama set around the popular traditional Tamil sport Jallikattu. The production team had released the first look poster of Raavana Kottam in the month of January this year. The first look poster had a beefed-up Shanthanu Bhagyaraj running alongside a bull with a rope tied around the neck of the bull in his hand. The first look poster went viral on social media, and engineered high expectations on the flick. As part of promotion for the venture, the trailer of the entertainer was played during the screening of Thunivu and Varisu.
Apart from actors Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Kayal Anandhi, the casting department of the flick has actors Prabhu, Ilavarasu, PL Thenappan, Deepa Shankar, Aruldoss, Sathya NJ, Sanjay Saravanan, Ekadasi, and Sujatha Sivakumar in various other supporting roles. Music director Justin Prabhakaran has handled musical instruments for the entertainer. Cinematographer Vetrivel Mahendran has done cinematography for the venture. Editor Lawrence Kishore has been brought on board to trim the movie. Art directors Narmadha Veni and Raju have designed the background for the flick. Action director Rock Prabhu has choreographed action blocks for the film. The movie is bankrolled by Kannan Ravi under the production label Kannan Ravi Group.
On the work front, actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj who was last seen on screens in Story Of Things is currently busy shooting for his next project christened Peralai under the direction of film maker G. K in which he will be sharing screen space with veteran actor Arjun Sarja. On the other hand, actress Kayal Anandhi who had her last outing in Yugi is currently busy shooting for her upcoming venture titled Titanic Kaadhalum Kavundhu Pogum directed by M. Janakiraman in which she will be seen alongside actor Kalaiyarasan.
