Director Meera Kathiravan, who has delivered projects like Aval Peyar Tamilarasi & Vizhithiru, is back with his upcoming directorial titled Habeebi. Writer V S Mohamed Ameen has written the story of the film. Debutant actor Esha will make his debut as a lead hero in Tamil cinema with the entertainer. Actress Malavika Manoj of Aan Paavam Pollathathu fame will be seen in the female lead part in the flick.
Habeebi was extensively shot in and around the Muslim neighborhoods of Kadayanallur and parts of Tenkasi to capture the authentic rural landscapes, culture, and traditions of the community. The production house has already announced that the drama will be releasing in theaters on 28th of May. They have now shared the trailer of the movie on social media.

Three minutes odd trailer of Habeebi opens to a group of women walking in the dark while jovially mocking their stalkers. One of the women says, “Hey, they have stopped tailing us. Scaredy cats. Look at them tailing behind us all the time.” Another one warns the gang, “If we trust them, they will leave us mid-way and fly abroad.” Another woman says, “Hey, Abu Tahir was behind us carrying a soap with him. No idea whose pot he is going to drop the soap in to.” One of the friends opines, “See, he would drop the soap in to Maimoon’s pot.”
The shot cuts to actress Malavika Manoj finding a soap in her pot. Her friend tells the group, “Look, he has dropped it in to her pot.” Her other friend warns her, “So, Nelavu if you take the soap with you, he would take it as a yes. Throw the soap away.” Following which we have few montage shots of romantic moments between the lead pair. Then we have a voiceover of actor Esha, “Wherever we go for work around this world our hearts and eyes only seek our hometown.”
In a scene we witness someone advising actor Esha’s father, “Let go off him, so he can learn and earn enough.” He responds, “I do not wish him to earn for my sake. It is enough if he can earn his keep.” To which the man says, “You are getting old, but your stubbornness never grows weak.” He replies, “God is more than sufficient.” Then we have a man responding to a marriage proposal, “Regarding this proposal the decision is Her’s. When it comes to marriage the girl’s opinion is important.”
Apart from Esha and Malavika Manoj, the casting team of the drama also has actors Kasthoori Raja, Dhanashree Sudhakaran, Arulkumar, Ismath Banu, Anusreya Rajan, Jayashree Binuraj, and Rekha Kumanan essaying various supporting characters. Music director Sam C S has been hired to handle musical instruments for the movie.
Cinematographer Mahesh Muthuswami has shouldered camera for the entertainer. The editing department of the venture has been handed over to editor Mathi V S. Art director Appunni Sajan has erected sets for the project. Action director Murali G has engineered action blocks for the flick.
The drama is backed by Raahul under his home production Romeo Pictures, in affiliation with Shahul Hameed under the production label Nesam Entertainment, along with V Shankar, V Karupuchaamy, and V Gunasekaran for the banner house GKS Bros Production.
On the professional front, actress Malavika Manoj is currently busy shooting for a couple of her future movies Bro Code filmed by story teller Karthi Yogi in which she will be seen alongside actors Ravi Mohan, S J Suryah, Shraddha Srinath, & Sri Gouri Priya, and an untitled project under the direction of director Hariharan Ram in which she will be sharing screen space with actor G V Prakash Kumar.
