Actor Harish Kalyan was last seen on screens in the sports film Lubber Pandhu crafted by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu with actors Gethu Dinesh, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, and Swasika in the lead roles. The Let’s Get Married actor will soon have a release via the action thriller Diesel. Story teller Shanmugam Muthusamy, who made his mark with films like Adangathey and Puranagaram, has inked and helmed the entertainer.
Actress Athulya Ravi of Suttu Pidikka Utharavu fame has teamed up with the actor for the first time in her career. Actor Vinay Rai is said to have played the antagonist in the drama. The shoot for the project took place across various locations in Chennai, Cuddalore, Pondicherry, and Hyderabad. The movie is set to hit theaters worldwide as a festive release ahead of Diwali on 17th of October in languages Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
The makers had earlier dropped a couple of singles from the flick on social media. They have now unveiled the teaser of the movie. Taking to his official X handle, actor Vijay Sethupathi dropped a special poster along with a link to Diesel and captioned it, “Launching the teaser of Diesel. Best wishes to the team. Diesel Diwali. Harish Kalyan, Athulya Ravi, Shanmugam Muthusamy, Third Eye Films, Dhibu Ninan Thomas, Devarajulu Markandeyan, Sai Kumar, Richard M Nathan, M S Prabhu, San Lokesh.” Here is the post made by the actor.
One minute teaser of Diesel opens to the voiceover of actor Harish Kalyan, “If we are going against the powerful and the rich, for the happiness of our people, we should fight without thinking about who the enemy is.” Following which we have quick montages of action sequences where we witness actor Harish Kalyan take out a few henchmen. The voiceover continues, “I did. The real game play starts now.”
Then we have the intro of actress Athulya Ravi who seems to be concerned by something. The teaser ends with the star performing high octane action blocks. Upon release the entertainer will be going head-to-head with actor Dhruv Vikram’s Bison directed by Mari Selvaraj, Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude helmed by Keerthiswaran, and Love Insurance Kompany scripted by Vignesh Shivan.
Casting unit of the film also comprises actors P Sai Kumar, Ananya, Kaali Venkat, Ramesh Thilak, Sachin Kedhekar, Vivek Prasanna, Sai Krishna, Thangadurai, Zakir Husain, KPY Dheena, Apoorva Singh, and Karunas. Music director Dhibu Ninan Thomas has composed music for the flick. Already two numbers ‘Beer Song’ in the lyrics of Rokesh sung by Gana Bala, and ‘Dillubaru Aaja’ lyrics penned by Rokesh & GKB in the vocals of Silambarasan, Shweta Mohan are out from the album.
Cinematographers Richard M Nathan and M S Prabhu have worked together to capture the entertainer. Editor San Lokesh has been roped in to bring coherence to the flick. Art director Rembon Balraj has fashioned background for the drama. Action directors Stunt Selva and Rajasekhar have choreographed action blocks for the movie. Diesel is funded by Devarajulu Markandeyan under the production label Third Eye Entertainment in association with SP Sankar for the banner house SP Cinemas.
On the professional front, actor Harish Kalyan will have his next release via the romantic movie Nooru Kodi Vaanavil helmed by director Sasi in which he has shared screen space with actress Siddhi Idnani.
On the other hand, actress Athulya Ravi is currently busy shooting for her future ventures Mr. X crafted by Manu Anand in which she has joined forces with actors Arya, Gautham Karthik, Manju Warrier, Anagha, Raiza Wilson, & Sarathkumar, and Devdass Parvati filmed by story teller Aravi in which she will be romancing actor Loga.
