‘Bum Baa Diga Diga’ From Lokesh Kanagaraj’s DC Is A Pulsating Number!

Film maker Lokesh Kanagaraj coined and popularized the term ‘Lokesh Kanagaraj universe’ among the young audience of Tamil cinema in what feels like a jiffy. The Kaithi story teller has previously played guest roles in Master and Singapore Saloon. He will soon transition to a lead hero in Kollywood. He has headlined the upcoming action thriller flick DC in which he has played a character named Devadas. Director Arun Matheswaran, who captivated audiences with his filmmaking style in Rocky & Saani Kaayidham, has inked and helmed the movie. 

He has co-written the dialogues of the drama with writer Franklin Jacob. Writer Arun Ranjan has worked on the screenplay of the flick. Actress Wamiqa Gabbi of Modern Love Chennai fame has depicted a character called Chandra in the venture. DC is all set to hit the screens on 7th of August. The makers have already begun to promote the film. As part of it, they had shared a trailer and a couple of singles from the entertainer on social media. They have now launched another single from the album.

Taking to their official X handle, team of Sun pictures dropped a small clip along with a link to the single ‘Bum Baa Diga Diga’ from DC and worded, “Tham tharikida thithithom, Yudham murugana sabhdham thom! Volume up and feel the rush. Bum Baa Diga Diga is out now! DC. Lokesh Kanagaraj, Arun Matheswaran, Anirudh Ravichander, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanjana, Vedan, Mukesh G, Prasanna G K, Kannan S, Prabhu C, Sivam C Kabilan, Kuchirayar, DC From August 7.” Here is the post made by the production house. 

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander has scored music for the drama. He has also sung the song along with rapper Vedan. Lyricist Heisenberg has written lyrics for the track. Rap portion is penned by Vedan himself. The number is mixed by Srinivasan M, Vinay Sridhar, & Shivakiran S, and mastered by Luca Pretolesi. 

Four soundtracks ‘Aint Nobody’ crooned by Anirudh Ravichander & Ram Kumar, ‘Bloody Valentine’, ‘Raga Of Revenge’ sung by Faraz, and ‘Hangova’ in the vocals of Anirudh Ravichander, are already out from the album. Lyricist Heisenberg has penned lyrics for three songs. 

The trailer of the film, which released earlier, retained Arun Matheswaran’s violent aura, following two lost souls as they seek solace in each other in a ruptured world. Besides Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, the ensemble cast of the venture also has actors Guru Somasundaram, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Parvathi, Avinash Raghudevan, Sharath Ravi, Jawahar Sakthi, and Kobisan Chandrakumar in various supporting roles. 

Cinematographer Mukesh G has taken care of the cinematography division of the movie. Editor G K Prasanna has been hired to bring coherence to the flick. Art director Kannan S has engineered sets for the drama. Stunt master Prabhu C has designed action moves for the project. The venture is backed by Kalanithi Maran under his production label Sun Pictures. 

On the work front, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently directing a Telugu drama tentatively titled AA 23 which will have actors Allu Arjun & Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. He is also producing a story that is set in his universe christened Benz which will be filmed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan with actors Raghava Lawrence, Jayam Ravi, Nivin Pauly, and Samyuktha as part of the cast. 

On the other hand, actress Wamiqa Gabbi will soon have a release in multiple languages, in Tamil via Genie filmed by Bhuvanesh Arjunan in which she has costarred with actors Ravi Mohan, Krithi Shetty, & Kalyani Priyadarshan, Iravaakaalam scripted by Ashwin Saravanan in which she has performed alongside actors Sharath Ravi & Sshivada, in Malayalam via Tiki Taka helmed by V S Rohith in which she has partnered with actors Asif Ali & Kalyani Priyadarshan, and in Hindi via Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story directed by Avinash Arun in which she has worked with actor Rajkummar Rao. The actress is now focused in her next Telugu drama G2 created by Vinay Kumar Goodachari in which she will be seen alongside actor Adivi Sesh, and a Hindi flick Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling helmed by Vikas Bahl in which she will be starring with actor Siddhant Chaturvedi.
