Actor Arun Vijay rejuvenated his fading career in Tamil cinema with a chic antagonist role in Ajith Kumar’s Yennai Arindhaal. He followed it with successive commercial hits in Kuttram 23, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, and Thadam. But of late he has been struggling a tad to deliver a solid hit. The Thadaiyara Thaakka star was last seen on screens in Mission: Chapter 1 which hit theaters under the direction of A L Vijay. The entertainer opened to negative reviews and had a poor business. The Sinam actor will soon have an opportunity to get back on the victory saddle with his upcoming movie Vanangaan. Film maker Bala has penned and crafted the entertainer. Actress Roshni Prakash of Jada fame has been cast opposite actor Arun Vijay in the drama. Vanangaan is poised to hit the screens as a festive release on Pongal, January 10th of next year.
Storyteller Bala recently completed 25 years in Tamil cinema. As a token of love producer Suresh kamatchi has arranged for a grand celebration of the occasion during the audio launch function of Vanangaan which is to be held on 18th of December. Taking to his official X account, director and producer Suresh Kamatchi dropped a poster of Bala with a compilation of snaps from his filmography in the background and extended his wishes, “சேது தொடங்கி வணங்கான் வரை கால் நூற்றாண்டு கடினப்பாதை கடந்த திரைமகன் அண்ணன் இயக்குநர் பாலாவிற்கு வாழ்த்துகள். ‘A journey of 25 years, filled with unforgettable characters and powerful narratives. Happy Silver Jubilee, Director Bala.’ Vanangaan from Pongal. Vanangaan from Jan 10.” Here is the post made by the producer.
Bala 25 Years
Earlier producer Suresh kamatchi had shared a letter elaborating on the career and craft of director Bala. He went on to express his fanboy moment, and gratitude for having enjoyed such brilliant cinematic experiences.
The trailer of Vanangaan which was released earlier this year showed actor Arun Vijay going on a retribution ride immediately after being released from prison. Vanangaan was initially bankrolled and headlined by Suriya and Krithi Shetty. The production team started shooting for their first schedule. Sadly, Suriya had a difference of opinion with Bala during the shoot, and eventually opted out of the flick. Beside Arun Vijay and Roshni Prakash, cast of Vanangaan also comprises actors Samuthirakani, Mysskin, Kavitha Gopi, Aruldoss, Ridha, Bala Sivaji, Chhaya Devi, Yohan Chacko, Shanmugarajan, Mai Pa Narayanan, Brinda Sarathy, and Munish Sivagurunath.
The technical side of the film has music director G V Prakash Kumar handling musical gears for the flick. The background music for the flick has been composed by music director Sam C S. Cinematographer R B Gurudev has operated camera for the drama. Editor Sathish Suriya has been brought on board to bring coherence to the entertainer. Art director Sahu has fashioned sets for the venture. Stunt man Stunt Silva has choreographed action blocks. The project is bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi under his production company V House Productions in collaboration with Bala for his home label B Studios.
On the professional front, Arun Vijay is staring at consecutive releases in Retta Thala crafted by Thiru Kumaran in which he has shared screen space with actress Tanya Ravichandran, Agni Siragugal directed by Naveen in which he will be seen alongside actors Vijay Antony and Akshara Haasan, and Border helmed by Arivazhagan.
