Actor Arya has decelerated the velocity at which he was doing films. He seems to be relaxed after his marriage, enjoying life and doing movies at a slow pace. The Arinthum Ariyamalum actor was last seen on screens in Enemy alongside his best buddy and actor Vishal which hit the theaters last year under the direction of story teller Shankar Anand. The Aranmanai 3 actor is now gearing up for the release of his next entertainer titled Captain. Actress Aishwarya Lakshmi of Gargi fame will be playing the female lead role. Film maker Shakti Soundar Rajan has directed the drama. The shooting for the project was wrapped up in the month of February, and the movie is currently in the final stage of post-production getting fine- tuned for release.
Now, the production house has dropped the trailer of the flick on social media. Actor Arya himself has shared the trailer. Taking to his official twitter account, actor Arya shared the trailer along with the message, “Here’s the Captain trailer. Hope you all like it.” Here is the trailer shared by the actor.
The two-minute odd trailer opens in a border town in the North East where we witness a battalion on a mission. We have Arya’s voiceover telling us, “It doesn’t matter who the enemy is, every army attack has four stages of battle. Identifying the enemy. Finding out the enemy’s weakness. Deceiving the enemy. The fight.” Then he introduces himself as captain Vetriselvan. The trailer is action packed and hints at an intriguing man vs predator battle. Captain is all set to hit the screens on 8th of September this year. The flick marks the second time association of director Shakti Soundar Rajan and actor Arya after their fantasy action movie Teddy. Director Shakti Soundar Rajan is known for his sci-fi filmography with entertainers like Miruthan, and Tik Tik Tik, which got the attention of the audience. Naturally, the expectations on the venture have spiked. The first look poster and now the trailer have further amplified the anticipation.
Apart from actor Arya, Captain has veteran actress Simran playing a vital role. The casting department of the flick has actors Gokul, Thyagarajan, Kavya Shetty, Harish Uthaman, and Bharath Raj essaying various other supporting roles. Cinematographer Yuva has been behind the camera for the entertainer. The musical instruments for the flick have been handled by music director D Imman. Editor Pradeep E. Ragav has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the drama. The movie is funded by the actor himself under his home banner The Show People along with Think Studios.
On the work front, actor Arya who was last seen on screens in the action thriller Enemy is currently busy shooting for his next untitled venture which is directed by film maker Nalan Kumarasamy. The Sarpatta Parambarai actor will soon make his debut in web series space with his web series titled The Village helmed by director Milind Rau which is in the post production getting tuned for release. On the other hand, actress Aishwarya Lekshmi who was last seen on screens in Tamil in the crime thriller Gargi is gearing up for the release of the epic historical drama Ponniyin Selvan directed by auteur Mani Ratnam. The actress is currently busy shooting for her next Tamil project christened Gatta Kusthi scripted by story teller Chella Ayyavu in which she will be sharing the screen space with actor Vishnu Vishal, and for a Malayalam venture titled Kumari filmed by Nirmal Sahadev, and for a Telugu flick Ammu scripted by Charukesh Sekar.
