Actor Arun Vijay was last seen on screens in negative shades in the action drama Idly Kadai scripted and headlined by actor Dhanush K Raja with actresses Nithya Menen and Shalini Pandey as female leads. The Tamil Rockerz actor will soon be seen in the lead role in his upcoming action thriller titled Retta Thala. Story teller Kris Thirukumaran, who has previously crafted projects like Maan Karate and Gethu, has written and helmed the entertainer.
Actresses Siddhi Idnani of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu fame and Tanya Ravichandran of Rasavathi fame have portrayed the female lead roles in the drama. The shoot for the entertainer took place across various sites in Chennai, Tharangampadi, Pondicherry, and Goa. The makers have now announced the release date of the film on social media. Retta Thala is all set to release in theaters worldwide on 25th of December.

The special poster shared by the actor has him dressed in casuals with chic hairstyle carrying a gun in one hand, while a flower and book in another. Interestingly, director A R Murugadoss held the rights for the title ‘Retta Thala’ for a script that was written for actor Ajith Kumar. However, he gladly gave up the title. Actor Arun Vijay expressed his gratitude to A R Murugadoss on social media for his generous gesture.
Besides Arun Vijay, Tanya Ravichandran, and Siddhi Idnani, the movie also comprises actors Hareesh Peradi, John Vijay, Vincent Ashokan, Bigg Boss fame Balaji Murugadoss, Nitish Nirmal, Yog Japee, and Yogesh Samy depicting various supporting characters. Music director Sam C S has composed music for the project. Already two songs ‘Kannamma’ in the lyrics of Sam C S & voice of Dhanush K Raja, and ‘Kandara Kolli’ written by Viveka and sung by Sivam are already out from the album.
Cinematographer Tijo Tomy has taken care of the cinematography division of the entertainer. Editor Anthony has been brought on board to bring coherence to the drama. Action director Prabhu Chandrasekar has fashioned action blocks for the flick. Art director Arun Shankar Durai has designed the background for the film. Retta Thala is bankrolled by Bobby Balachandran under the banner house BTG Universal.
On the professional front, actor Arun Vijay has a bunch of his long-delayed ventures Boxer filmed by Vivek K Kannan in which he has collaborated with actresses Ritika Singh & Sanjjanaa Galrani, Agni Siragugal scripted by story teller Naveen in which he has shared screen space with actors Vijay Antony & Akshara Haasan, and Borrder helmed by director Arivazhagan in the shelves waiting to hit screens.
On the other hand, actress Siddhi Idnani is eagerly awaiting the release of her long-delayed film Nooru Kodi Vaanavil directed by Sasi in which she will be seen alongside actor Harish Kalyan. Actress Tanya Ravichandran is currently busy shooting for her upcoming untitled venture directed by director Manikandan in which she will be joining forces with actors Jiiva and Amyra Dastur.
