Actress Regina Cassandra who ventured in to Tamil cinema with a supporting role in the romedy drama Kanda Naal Mudhal made her debut as a lead heroine in Azhagiya Asura. Unfortunately, the project did not do well in the box office. But the introduction she garnered in the flick took her to the Kannada film industry and later to Tollywood. Her first big break came her way for her role as Parvathy in film maker Pandiraj’s directorial Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga in which she played the lead of actor Sivakarthikeyan. The success of the movie put her in the limelight and brought her numerous flicks not only from Tamil but also from the Telugu cinema industry. Web series are the most happening thing on the industry right now. The Maanagaram actress has joined the ride on the wave by signing to play a role in a web series. Yes, actress Regina Cassandra has played a part in the upcoming untitled Hindi web series for Amazon Prime Video OTT platform. The series is helmed by directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK who had previously directed the controversial web series “The Family Man.” The project will have Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi in significant roles. The actress has opened up about her experience of working with actor Vijay Sethupathi in the drama.
In a recent interview with a popular media house, the actress talked about her working experience with the star actor and the actress could not stop herself from showering praises on the actor. Reportedly, actress Regina Cassandra has stated that it is fun working with actors Vijay Sethupathi and Shahid Kapoor. The actress has gone on to state that it was a blessing for her to share screen space with actor Vijay Sethupathi. The one of the most celebrated actors in town Vijay Sethupathi has earned the name from many of his costars over the years. And certainly, this is not the first time that someone has spoken so high of the Soodhu Kavvum star. Actress Regina Cassandra will be playing the wife of actor Vijay Sethupathi in the series. The rest of the cast and crew that will be part of the project will be announced soon. If the reports are to be believed, the production house is in plans to bring the series to the OTT platform by the end of this year.
On the work front, actress Regina Cassandra who was last seen on screens in Mughizh is currently busy shooting for her next historical mystery Tamil Telugu bilingual film titled Soorpanagai which is helmed by Caarthick Raju, and for her Telugu drama christened Saakini Daakini under the directorial of film maker Sudheer Varma. The actress has Karungaapiyam directed by story teller Deekay, Borrder helmed by director Arivazhagan Venkatachalam, and Kallapart under the directorial of Rajapandi shaping up in various stages of post-production. Apart from this the actress has danced for an item number in the Chiranjeevi starrer Acharya.
