Vijay Antony is a multi-talented artist of Tamil cinema who started off as a musician, and metamorphosed into an actor, producer, editor, director, and a writer. The Thimiru Pudichavan star had his last outing in the likes of the action thriller drama Tamilarasan which hit the screens under the directorial of Babu Yogeswaran with actress Remya Nambeesan as the female lead. The entertainer did not live up to the expectations of the audience. Thus, fizzled out in the box office. The actor has now put that behind him, and is currently gearing up for the release of his next movie christened Pichaikkaran 2. Besides playing the lead part, Vijay Antony has also written and directed the entertainer. Actress Kavya Thapar has portrayed the female lead role. The venture which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony a while back has now been wrapped, and is in the post production.
The production unit has now unveiled the trailer of the drama on social media along with its release date. Pichaikkaran 2 is all set to hit the screens in languages Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi on 19th of May. Actor Vijay Antony himself has shared the trailer. Taking to his official twitter handle the actor shared a poster from the movie along with a link to the trailer of Pichaikkaran 2, and wrote, “பிச்சைக்காரன் 2. Blockbuster. Nearly two minute long trailer opens to antagonist Dev Gill saying, “Vijay Gurumurthy India’s 7th richest man. Possessor of 1 lakh crore. He owns millions and billions.” The trailer then gives us miscellaneous angles of the plot in a stretch at quick pace. Following which we learn about a murder of an influential person. We then witness a massive protest outside a court with the protesters shouting ‘Anti Bikili.’ The term has piqued the curiosity of the audience. The trailer has reached over two million views in a short period. The first part of Pichaikkaran was directed by Sasi which turned out to be a successful film in actor Vijay Antony’s career. Hence, anticipation for the second part has skyrocketed. There are reports that the rights of Pichaikkaran 2 have been sold for 15 crores which has further upped expectations.
Apart from actors Vijay Antony, and Kavya Thapar, the casting division of the movie has actors John Vijay, Yogi Babu, Radha Ravi, Harish Peradi, Y G Mahendran, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Ajay Ghosh, Dev Gill essaying various other supporting roles. Actor Vijay Antony has handled both the music and editing department of the film. Cinematographer Muthu Kumaran has been behind camera for the flick. Art director K Aru Samy has designed the background for the drama. Stunt masters Mahesh Mathew and Rajasekar have choreographed action blocks for the project. The entertainer is funded by actor Fatima Vijay Antony under the production banner Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
On the work front, actor Vijay Antony who was last seen on screens in the action thriller Tamilarasan is currently busy shooting for Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan under the direction of filmmaker Vijay Milton in which he will be romancing actress Megha Akash. Apart from this venture, the actor has Agni Siragugal directed by Naveen in which he has shared screen space with actor Arun Vijay, Kolai crafted by Balaji K Kumar in which he will be seen alongside actress Ritika Singh, Ratham helmed by director C S Amudhan in which he has collaborated with actresses Ramya Nambeesan, Nandita Swetha, and Mahima Nambiar, Valli Mayil scripted by director Suseenthiran in which he has co starred with actress Faria Abdullah, and Khaki crafted by A. Senthil Kumar in various stages of post-production shaping up for release. On the other hand, actress Kavya Thapar, who was last seen on screens in Tamil in Market Raja MBBS is currently busy shooting for her upcoming untitled Telugu project under the direction of Karthik Gattamneni in which she will be associating with actor Ravi Teja.
