Vijay Antony is a multi-talented artist of Tamil cinema who started off as a musician, and metamorphosed into an actor, producer, editor, director, and a writer. The Thimiru Pudichavan star was last seen on screens in the action thriller drama Agni Siragugal which hit the theaters under the direction of Naveen with actor Arun Vijay as the antagonist. The venture which got made with a massive budget fizzled out in the box office. But the actor has put that behind him, and is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming mass action movie christened Pichaikkaran 2. Besides starring in the movie, Vijay Antony has also penned the script, and has helmed the flick. Actress Kavya Thapar has essayed the female lead role in the drama. The project which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony a while back has now been wrapped, and is in the post production.
Now, we have news that the actor is planning on bringing the film to the theaters in the summer of 2023. The Star Network has acquired both satellite and digital rights of the venture. The actor himself has shared the news on social media. Taking to his official twitter handle the actor shared a poster from the movie, and wrote, “Antibikili. Pichaikkaran 2. Bichagadu 2. The poster shared by the actor has him blindfolded in a red blindfold which has the term Anti Bikili written over it. The term has become popular and has got the audience piqued. The marketing strategy of the marketing team indeed has worked well. The first installment of Pichaikkaran was helmed by storyteller Sasi which went on to be a blockbuster hit of actor Vijay Antony’s career. Hence, the expectations on the second part are huge. There are reports that the rights of Pichaikkaran 2 have been sold for 15 crores. Pichaikkaran 2 will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. RKG Studios has bagged the rights to release the venture in Hindi.
Apart from actors Vijay Antony, and Kavya Thapar, the casting of the drama has actors John Vijay, Harish Peradi, Y G Mahendran, Ajay Ghosh, Yogi Babu, and Dev Gill playing various other supporting roles. The music for the project has been composed by Vijay Antony who will also be editing the film. Cinematographer Muthu Kumaran has shouldered the camera for the flick. Art directors K Aru Samy and R Janarthanan have designed the background for the drama. Stunt master Mahesh Mathew has choreographed the action sequences for the film. The entertainer is bankrolled by actor Vijay Antony himself under his home banner Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
On the work front, actor Vijay Antony who had his last outing in the action thriller Agni Siragugal is currently busy shooting for Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan which is directed by Vijay Milton. Apart from this movie, the actor has Tamilarasan scripted by Babu Yogeswaran in which he will be seen alongside actress Remya Nambeesan, Kolai crafted by Balaji K Kumar in which he has shared the screen space with actress Ritika Singh, Ratham directed by C S Amudhan in which he has collaborated with actresses Ramya Nambeesan, Nandita Swetha, and Mahima Nambiar, Valli Mayil helmed by Suseenthiran in which he has romanced actress Faria Abdullah, and Khaki helmed by A. Senthil Kumar in various stages of post-production getting refined for release. On the other hand, actress Kavya Thapar, who was last seen on screens in Tamil in Market Raja MBBS is currently busy shooting for her next untitled Telugu flick under the direction of Karthik Gattamneni in which she will be romancing actor Ravi Teja.
