Trailer Of Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Custody’ With Naga Chaitanya Is Out!

Director Venkat Prabhu had lastly crafted a segment in the anthology web drama Victim: Who Is Next which was out on Sony Liv OTT platform with actors Prasanna, Amala Paul, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead roles. The web series opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Thus, is yet to garner the attention of the audience. The Manmadha Leelai director has now put that behind him and is gearing up for the release of his next Tamil Telugu bilingual project christened Custody. Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya Akkineni has played the lead role in the movie. Actress Krithi Shetty of 86 fame will be seen in the female lead part. The actress has collaborated with actor Naga Chaitanya for the second time after Bangarraju. The entertainer, which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony a while ago, has been shot in and around the locations of Hyderabad, Rajahmundry, Chennai, and in Kerala. 

The production house has now unveiled the trailer of the drama on social media along with its release date. Custody is all set to hit the screens on 12th of May. Actor Naga Chaitanya Akkineni himself has shared the trailer. Taking to his official twitter account, the actor shared a poster from the film, and wrote, “Here it is! The trailer of Custody. Can’t wait for you all to experience the hunt in theaters on May 12th.” Here is the tweet made by the actor. 

Over two minutes, an odd trailer cut opens to actor Naga Chaitanya Akkineni pushing a police barricade. The shot cuts to a police officer reprimanding him, “If I send you for CM’s convoy protection, you are stopping his car? Without understanding what a police job is, you get into the department through some quota.” Then we get a few scenes of his romance facet. Following which we have actor Sampath Raj in custody, citing to Arvind Swamy he says, “You are a cop, know? Can’t you recognize by the man’s eyes that he is a criminal? You know how many murders he has committed?” We witness actor Arvind Swamy as a quirky criminal murdering people with rage. The trailer ends with actor Naga Chaitanya Akkineni mouthing, “Truth will win. But it takes a bit of time.” From the trailer, one could gauge that actor Naga Chaitanya Akkineni has been tasked to present Arvind Swamy in court, but there seems to be a threat on his life. The trailer has gone viral, and has clocked millions of views setting high expectations on the project. 

Apart from actors Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and Krithi Shetty, Custody has actor Arvind Swamy essaying the antagonist part after his impressive performance as an antagonist in Thani Oruvan. The casting division of the entertainer has actors Ramki, Sarath Kumar, Sampath Raj, Priyamani, Premgi Amaren, Premi Vishwanath, and Vennela Kishore depicting various other supporting roles. Music director Ilaiyaraaja has composed music for songs while his son Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored background music for the flick. Cinematographer S R Kathir has been behind camera for the drama. Editor Venkat Raajen has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the movie. Art director D Y Satya Narayana has erected sets for the film. Action director Mahesh Mathew of Agni Siragugal fame has choreographed action blocks for the venture. The entertainer is produced by Srinivasa Chitturi under the banner house Srinivasa Silver Screen. 

On the work front, actor Naga Chaitanya who was last seen on screens in an extended cameo appearance in the Bollywood film Laal Singh Chaddha is currently busy shooting for his maiden web series titled Dootha crafted by director Vikram Kumar in which he will be seen alongside actresses Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Prachi Desai. On the other hand, actress Krithi Shetty who had her last outing in the likes of Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali is currently busy shooting for her debut Malayalam movie Ajayante Randam Moshanam under the direction of story teller Jithin Laal in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Tovino Thomas and Aishwarya Rajesh.
