Actor Santhanam had his last outing in the comedy drama Gulu Gulu which hit the theaters under the direction of story teller Rathna Kumar with actress Athulya Chandra as the female lead. The movie opened to negative reviews from both the audience and critics. Hence, left the theaters unnoticed. The Dhilluku Dhuddu actor has now put that behind him, and is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming venture christened Kick. Kannada story teller Prashant Raj is set to make his debut in Kollywood with this drama. The project which went on floors a while ago, is now done and dusted, ready for release.
Actor Santhanam recently celebrated his birthday. As a way of celebrating the occasion, the production house has shared the trailer of Kick on social media. Taking to their official twitter account, the production house dropped the trailer of the flick, and wrote, “Get set for a fun filled ride packed with loads of laughter. Over two minutes the trailer opens to high-rise buildings with Santhanam’s voiceover, “We could even cross the sea, without water on our feet. But without water (tears) in our eyes, we cannot cross love.” Following the emotional tone, the entertainer gets comical. In line with typical Santhanam-esque movies. Earlier speaking about Kick, director Prashant Raj said, “I love to do comedy projects. If you see my filmography, they would be based on romance and comedy. Life might present us with many tragedies. It is our sense of humor that helps us deal with any hardships in life. It is with this notion that we have made Kick. It will be highly entertaining to the extent that it would help us set aside our sorrows and sadness for a brief period. I am confident that the audience will love the drama.”
Apart from actor Santhanam, Kick has actress Tanya Hope portraying the female lead role. The casting division of the drama has actors Thambi Ramaiah, Senthil, Kovai Sarala, Mansoor Ali Khan, Manobala, Y Gee Mahendra, Mottai Rajendran, Shakila, Ragini Dwivedi, Vaiyapuri, Scissor Manohar, King Kong, Muthukaalai, Seshu, Cool Suresh, and Anthony essaying various other supporting roles. Veteran Telugu actor Brahmanandam has collaborated with actor Santhanam once again after Dagaalty. Music director Arjun Janya has scored music for the film. Cinematographer Sudhakar Raj has shouldered camera for the movie. Editor Nagooran Ramachandran has edited the venture. The entertainer is produced by Naveen Raj under the production label Fortune Films.
On the work front, actor Santhanam who was last seen on screens in Gulu Gulu is currently gearing up for the release of his next drama titled Server Sundaram which is crafted by filmmaker Anand Balki in which he has romanced actress Vaibhavi Shandilya. There are also talks that the actor might again play comedian for actor Ajith Kumar’s AK 62 which is set to be helmed by story teller Vignesh Shivan. Apart from this he has an untitled horror project in his pipeline. On the other hand, actress Tanya Hope who was last seen in Tamil in Dharala Prabhu has Vallaan directed by filmmaker V R Mani in which she will be seen alongside actor Sundar C, Golmaal helmed by director Ponkumaran in which she has shared the screen space with actors Jiiva, Shiva, and Payal Rajput, and Kulasamy directed by Saravana Shakthi in which she has co starred with actor Vemal in various stages of post-production getting refined for release.
