Silambarasan and Gautham Karthik’s Pathu Thala Trailer Promises to be a Bloody Crime Drama!

Actor Silambarasan was last seen on screens in the neo noir gangster movie Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu which hit the screens under the direction of film maker Gautham Vasudev Menon with actress Siddhi Idnani in the female lead role. The drama opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. Thus, failed to bring footfalls to the theaters. Actor Gautham Karthik had his last outing in the action flick Yutha Satham scripted by Ezhil with actor Parthiban in the lead. The movie did not live up to the expectations of the audience. Now, both the actors have collaborated for their next project titled Pathu Thala. The film is penned and crafted by storyteller Obeli N Krishna of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame. The drama which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony a long while back, is all set to release on 30th of March this year. 

Now, the production unit has unveiled the trailer of Pathu Thala on social media. Actor Silambarasan himself has shared the trailer. Taking to his official twitter page, the actor dropped the trailer of Pathu Thala and wrote, “Here’s the trailer of Pathu Thala. Pathu Thala from March 30.” Here is the tweet made by the actor. 

Two minute trailer opens to a voiceover, “Everyone over here is only enquiring about the CM’s disappearance.” We have a news bulletin, “The CM of Tamil Nadu has gone missing since midnight.” The scene then cuts to Santhosh Prathap asking Gautham Vasudev Menon, “Are you, or am I the CM?” Amid the trailer, actor Gautham Vasudev Menon says to Silambarasan, “You should kill me. If not, I’ll kill you!” To which Silambarasan retorts, “Wolf kills the deer. Panther kills the wolf. Tiger will kill the Panther. The lion will kill the tiger! But there isn’t an animal on this earth to kill the lion, damn it!” Pathu Thala is the official remake of superhit Kannada drama Mufti crafted by Narthan with actor Shiva Rajkumar in the lead role. 

Actor Silambarasan will be seen as a mafia don AGR, while Gautham Karthik has played the part of a cop. Besides actors Silambarasan and Gautham Karthik, Pathu Thala has actress Priya Bhavani Shankar portraying female lead roles. The casting division of the entertainer has actors Kalaiyarasan of Madras fame, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Santhosh Prathap, Umesh Kaushik, Anu Sithara, Akshay Sharma, Tejeenthan Arunasalam, Joe Malloori, Dheeraj Kher, Manushiyaputhiran, and Soundararaja depicting various other supporting roles. Music director A R Rahman has composed music for the flick. Cinematographer Farook J Basha has been behind lens for the venture. Editor Praveen K L has edited the drama. Art director Milan has designed the background for the movie. Stunt master R Sakthi Saravanan has choreographed action blocks for the project. The drama is funded by K E Gnanavel Raja along with Jayantilal Gada under the production company Studio Green. 

On the work front, actor Silambarasan who had his last outing in the crime drama Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will soon begin to shoot for his next flick titled Corona Kumar which is set to be crafted by director Gokul. There are also talks of a potential collaboration between the actor and directors Sudha Kongara, and A R Murugadoss. Actor Gautham Karthik who had his last outing in the action thriller Yutha Satham is getting ready for the release of his upcoming venture August 16 1947 helmed by N S Ponkumar in which he has shared screen space with debutant actress Revathy. 

On the other hand, actress Priya Bhavani Shankar who was last seen on screens in the movie Agilan is currently busy shooting for the sequel of Indian under the direction of Shankar in which she will be associating with actor Kamal Hassan, for her debut untitled Telugu venture helmed by Eashvar Karthic in which she will be costarring with actor Satya Dev, and for a Telugu web series Dootha crafted by Vikram Kumar in which she will be seen alongside actors Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, and Parvathy Thiruvothu. Besides these entertainers, the actress has Bommai scripted by Radha Mohan in which she has collaborated with actor S J Surya, and Rudhran filmed by S Kathiresan in which she has romanced actor Raghava Lawrence in various stages of post-production getting shaped for release.
