Actor Sibi Sathyaraj who made his debut in Tamil cinema back in the year 2003 with Student Number 1 helmed by Selva is an artist who shows no hurry in signing up flicks. He plays it slow, at his own pace. More than two decades in the industry the actor has hardly 20 movies to his name. The actor is currently gearing up for the release of his long-delayed venture Ranga which is helmed by storyteller Vinod DL. The project went on floors before Covid- 19. The entertainer was shot in Chennai and in the extreme weather conditions of Kashmir. The production unit wrapped up the shoot, and the entertainer was in the post production getting shaped for release. But Covid hit, and due to the restrictions, that were in place the project got delayed. For some unknown reason it could not see the daylight yet. Now, finally we have an update on the release date of the movie.
The production house has revealed the release date of the venture on social media. The drama is poised to hit the screens on 13th of May this year. Actor Sibi Sathyaraj took to his official twitter handle and shared the news along with a poster from the film. The actor wrote, “Happy to announce that my film Ranga will be released on May 13th in theaters worldwide! Need all your love and support dear friends.” Here is the post shared by the actor.
It is said that the movie will have a contemporary social issue at its heart. The first half of the movie will unfold as a familial drama, while in the second the narrative will quickly shift to an action thriller. Apart from actor Sibi Sathyaraj, Ranga has actress Nikhila Vimal playing the female lead role. The casting of the flick includes Sathish, Mohnish Rahega, Shah Ra, Saba Swaminathan, and Mano Bala essaying various other supporting roles. Cinematographer Arvi has cranked the camera for the flick. Music director Ramjeevan has composed the music for the flick. Editor Anthony L. Ruben will be editing the drama. The movie is funded by producer Vijay K Celliah under his banner house Boss Movies.
On the work front, actor Sibi Sathyaraj who was last seen screens in the neo noir thriller drama Kabadadaari is currently busy shooting for his upcoming project titled Ranger under the directorial of film maker Dharanidharan in which he will be sharing the screen space with actress Remya Nambeesan, and for Vattam helmed by storyteller Kamalakannan in which he will be seen alongside actors Andrea Jeremiah, Manjima Mohan, and Athulya Ravi. Apart from these projects, he is gearing up for the release of his venture christened Maayon directed by film maker Kishore in which he will be romancing actress Tanya Ravichandran. The venture is all set to hit the theaters on 17th of June this year. On the other hand, actress Nikhila Vimal is currently busy shooting for her next Malayalam drama Kothth under director Sibi Malayil in which she will be sharing the screen space with actor Asif Ali.
