Auteur Vetrimaaran is one of the most celebrated film makers of Tamil cinema with a large fan following. Nearly every film of his has received critical acclamations from the audience and critics alike. The director had previously helmed a short in the anthology drama Paava Kadhaigal. Now the director is getting ready for the release of his next directorial Viduthalai part one. The drama has actor Soori in the lead. Actor Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in a key role in the flick. The film is based on a short story written by famous author B. Jeyamohan. This has further amplified the anticipation of the entertainer. The shoot for the first part of Viduthalai was wrapped a couple of months ago. The shoot for the sequel was underway in Kodaikanal. Now, we have an interesting update on the project.
We have news that director Vetrimaaran has wrapped the shoot for the second part as well. The production house has given a press release regarding the same. “It is a wrap for Viduthalai franchise. The post production work for the first part is nearing completion. An announcement regarding the release date of the film will be made in the coming days.” The movie will be launched in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The teaser of the flick is expected to be released soon. Viduthalai recently made headlines after a stuntman named Suresh fell to death while demonstrating a jumping stunt on the set despite all safety measures in place. There was uncertainty as to whether the project will reach completion. The team has bounced back quickly from a difficult situation, and has completed the venture. It is said that the production house is eyeing to bring the entertainer to the theaters for the summer of this year.
Actor Soori underwent a massive physical transformation for his part in Viduthalai. His evolution from starting out as a comedian to becoming a lead hero has received boundless support, and has inspired many. The actor will be essaying the role of a police constable in the flick, while actor Vijay Sethupathi will portray the role of a teacher. Apart from actors Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, Viduthalai has actors Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bhavani Sre, Prakash Raj, Rajiv Menon, and Chetan in various other supporting parts. Music director Ilaiyaraaja will be handling the musical instruments for the flick. Ace cinematographer R. Velraj has taken care of the cinematography division for the movie. Editor N. B. Srikanth has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the entertainer. Stunt man Peter Hein has choreographed the action blocks for the movie. The project is funded by Elred Kumar for the production label RS Infotainment. Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies has bought the theatrical rights of the drama.
On the work front, actor Soori who was last seen on screens in the comedy film Prince will soon join the sets of director Vikram Sugumaran to begin to shoot for his next untitled web series. The actor will be seen in the lead role in the series. On the other hand, actor Vijay Sethupathi who was last seen on screens in Tamil in Maamanithan is currently busy shooting for his next Hindi film Jawan scripted by director Atlee in which he will be seen alongside actors Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara, for Mumbaikar crafted by director Santhosh Sivan, for Gandhi Talks filmed by Kishor Pandurang Belekar, and for Merry Christmas helmed by storyteller Sriram Raghavan. Apart from these flicks, the actor has his Tamil Telugu bilingual film christened Michael crafted by Ranjit Jeyakodi in which he will be seen alongside actor Sundeep Kishan in the post-production stage getting fine-tuned for release.
