Indru Netru Naalai, the science fiction flick that hit the screens in the year 2015 surprised the Tamil cinema audience with its quality content for a minimalistic budget. The experimental science fiction entertainer received critical acclamation from the audience as well as the critics in the industry as a result of which it tasted commercial success as well. The science fiction venture which had actors Vishnu Vishal, Mia George, and Karunakaran in the lead roles was the directorial debut of talented film maker R. Ravi Kumar. The project was bankrolled by C. V. Kumar under the banner Thirukumaran Entertainment partnering with K. E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green production house.

The climax of the film ended with actor Arya making a special appearance hinting at a sequel for the flick. Also, the success of the project incited talks that there will be a sequel for the venture. Now, one of the producers of the movie C. V. Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainment has official announced that there will be a sequel for Indru Netru Naalai on his social media account. Taking to his twitter account the producer shared, ‘We are excited to announce Indru Nettru Naalai 2 a perfect sequel penned by director Ravikumar and will be directed by his associate S. P. Karthic.’ Like the prequel the sequel will be scripted by the director of the first version but it will be directed by his associate. It is said that, since story teller Ravikumar is busy with his next science fiction film in which he is directing Sivakarthikeyan, he could not direct the film and hence his associate has been roped in to direct the sequel.
The cinematography for the project will be done by Dinesh Krishnan. While Hip Hop Thamizha Aadi had composed the music for the prequel, musician Ghibran will be composing the music for the sequel. Actor Vishnu Vishal and comedian Karunakaran who were also in the first part have been confirmed to be in the second part as well. The rest of the cast and crew that will be working on the motion picture will be finalized and announced soon. The shooting for the drama is set to go on floors from the month of September.
Speaking on the project, actor Vishnu Vishal said, ‘I am very glad that I was able to do the project at last after many people rejected the script and now I am reaping the price for it in the form of sequel. It has only given me more confidence to do more films with good content. Hopefully I will do more quality content in the future as well,” concluded the actor. Indeed the actor has been very choosy when it comes to picking up his projects and has been delivering some quality contents for the past couple of years. It is worth mentioning that the actor also has the sequel of Mundasupatti in his kitty. We will have to wait to see what kind of reception the sequel of the hit movie will have among the audience.
