Samuthirakani’s Vimanam Trailer: Promises To Be Poignant Father Son Relationship Drama!

Actor Samuthirakani is one of the busiest supporting artists of Tamil cinema. The Subramaniapuram actor was last seen on screens in a supporting role in the period action drama Vaathi which hit the theaters under the direction of Venky Atluri with actors Dhanush, and Samyuktha Menon in the lead roles. The movie opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Thus, it did not do well in the box office. The actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his upcoming Tamil Telugu bilingual flick titled Vimanam in which he has played the lead part. The Telugu version of the entertainer is christened Dasara. Actress Meera Jasmine is set to return to Tamil cinema nearly after a decade through the flick. Story teller Siva Prasad Yanala has written and directed the entertainer. Writer Prabhakar has penned dialogues for the flick. The venture which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony some time ago is wrapped, and is in the post production stage shaping up for release.

The production house has now released the trailer of the drama on social media along with its release date. Vimanam is slated to hit the theaters on 9th of June. Taking to their official twitter account, the production house dropped the trailer of the film, and wrote, “A gut wrenching story of a father and son. The Vimanam trailer is out now. Landing at your nearest cinemas on June 9th.” Here is the post made by the production unit.

Two and a half minutes of an odd trailer video opens to an auto driver asking, “Why are you late Veerayya bro?” Another auto driver nearby says, “Ask me I will tell you. His son gazes at airplanes. Fifteen minutes over there. He will go to his school, and enquire with the staff whether his son is doing well in academics. Forty-five minutes over there. He will offer prayer to Hanuman that his son should do well in life for an hour. After all that, bro rides his Benz to reach here. That is why he is late.” Actor Samuthirakani responds, “Whenever you pass out, it is this Benz that brought you home.” From the trailer one could gauge that actor Samuthirakani’s son is fixated about planes, and desires to travel in them. Samuthirakani leaves no stone unturned to put his son in a flight. The trailer has enjoyed a great reception among the audience, and has set high expectations on the project.

Apart from actors Samuthirakani, and Meera Jasmine, the casting department of the drama has actors Master Dhruvan, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Rahul Ramakrishna, Dhanraj, and Naan Kadavul Rajendran portraying various other supporting roles. Music director Charan Arjun has composed music for the film. Cinematographer Vivek Kalepu has done cinematography for the flick. Editor Marthand K Venkatesh has been brought on board to edit the movie. Art director J K Murthy has designed the background for the project. The entertainer is funded by Kiran Korrapati and Veena Korrapati under the production house Kiran Korrapati Creative Works along with Zee Studios.

On the work front, actor Samuthirakani who was last seen on screens in Vaathi is currently busy shooting for his upcoming drama titled Indian 2 under the direction of story teller S Shankar in which he will be seen alongside actor Kamal Hassan, and for a Telugu project christened Game Changer also directed by S Shankar in which he will be sharing screen space with actor Ram Charan. On the other hand, actress Meera Jasmine who had her last outing in Tamil in Vingyani is currently shooting for her next venture The Test helmed by director Sashikanth in which she will be collaborating with actors Madhavan, and Nayanthara. Apart from this drama, the actress has a Malayalam project titled Queen Elizebeth crafted by director M Padmakumar in which she has costarred with actor Narain in the post production stage getting fine tuned for release.
