Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu ventured in to Tamil cinema with a small role in the classic of film maker Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. She debuted as a lead heroine by playing the female lead in the Telugu version of the flick alongside her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya. Her Tamil debut happened with Baana Kaathadi. Immediately making her the heartthrob of millions.

On the work front, the actress is gearing up for the release of her Telugu venture Shaakuntalam under the direction of Gunasekhar. She is currently busy shooting for a science fiction film titled Yashoda in Telugu which is directed by Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan. As of now the actress is yet to ink her signature for a Tamil film.
