Actor Nivin Pauly was last seen in Tamil cinema in the action crime film Richie crafted by story teller Gautham Ramachandran with actresses Shraddha Srinath and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli as female leads. Actress Nayanthara had her last outing in the sports psychological thriller Test filmed by S Sashikanth with actors Siddharth, Meera Jasmine, and Madhavan in lead roles. Both the stars are now gearing up for the release of their upcoming Tamil Malayalam bilingual action-comedy movie Dear Students.
Directors George Philip Roy and Sandeep Kumar have written and directed the entertainer. The venture has been extensively shot in various vicinities of Kerala. The production house has plans to bring the flick to theaters by the end of this year. An official update regarding the release date is expected to be made in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the production house has now released the teaser of the entertainer on social media. Taking to his official X account, actor Nivin Pauly himself dropped a special poster along with a link to the teaser of Dear Students and captioned it, “‘Dear Students’ official teaser is out. A film by George Philip Roy & Sandeep Kumar, with the amazing Nayanthara and a batch of newcomers as Dear Students and I am happy to have joined the journey! One minute teaser of Dear Students opens in a restaurant with actor Nivin Pauly asking Nayanthara, “We have got spicy, less spicy, Mexican, Lebanese, Tandoori. What would you prefer?” She asks him, “Hari?” He responds, “Err . . . Hari? Yes, yes! At your service!” She says, “I would like to speak with you in private. Please sit.” A puzzled Nivin Pauly ponders, “Private, huh?”
In a funny manner he sits by her side and asks, “Tell me.” She retorts, “Well, why are you sitting so far? Why not just sit on my lap?” He reacts, “Straight on the face.” The shot cuts to him performing a mass action block. In a shot we witness actress Nayanthara smashing a man’s face to a car window glass.
We have montages of students enjoying their school life and shots of brewing romances. The teaser ends with actor Nivin Pauly requesting someone nearby, “We need to talk in private. Please excuse us, Grandpa.” To which he replies, “Hey! We are from the police.” A rattled Nivin Pauly utters, “Police?”
Casting unit of Dear Students also includes actors Redin Kingsley, Lal, Mallika Sukumaran, Suresh Krishna, Aju Varghese, Shaju Sreedhar, Jagadish, Sharaf U Dheen, Nandu, Edavela Babu, Praveena, Johny Antony, Althaf Salim, Uday Mahesh, Chitra Iyer, Muthu Kumar, Devika Deepak Dev, Reshmi Boban, and Jayakumar Janakiraman. Music directors Justin Varghese and Sibi Mathew Alex have scored music for songs. While Sibi Mathew Alex has composed the background score for the drama.
Cinematographers Anend C Chandran and Shinoz Shamsudheen have worked in tandem to capture the movie. Editor Lal Krishna has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the entertainer. Art director Sajith M Saraswathy has engineered sets for the venture. Action directors Mahesh Mathew and Kalai Kingson have choreographed stunt moves for the flick. Dear Students is funded by Nivin Pauly himself under his production banner Pauly Jr Pictures partnering with Vineet Jain, Manoj Ratnakaran, and T V Arun Kumar for the production company Maverik Movies Pvt Ltd.
On the work front, actor Nivin Pauly will soon have a release in Tamil in Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai helmed by director Ram in which he has joined forces with Soori & Anjali, a couple of Malayalam flicks Baby Girl scripted by Arun Varma in which he has costarred with actresses Lijomol Jose & Aditi Ravi, and Dolby Dineshan scripted by K V Thamar. The Neram actor is now occupied in his future Tamil venture Benz crafted by Bakkiyaraj Kannan in which he will be performing alongside actors Raghava Lawrence and Samyuktha.
On the other hand, actress Nayanthara will next be seen on screens in Mannangatti Since 1960 scripted by Dude Vicky in which she has collaborated with Gouri G Kishan, Yogi Babu, & Devadarshini Chetan. The Iraivan actress is simultaneously shooting for three of her Tamil projects Hi directed by Vishnu Edavan in which she will be romancing Kavin, Mookuthi Amman 2 helmed by Sundar C, Rakkayie filmed by Senthil Nallasamy, a Telugu movie tentatively titled Mega 157 crafted by Anil Ravipudi, a Malayalam flick Patriot helmed by Mahesh Narayanan in which she will be costarring with Mohanlal, Mammootty, & Fahadh Faasil, and a Kannada drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups scripted by Geetu Mohandas in which she will be associating with Yash.
