Actor Vijay was last seen in the action drama Varisu which hit the screens under the direction of story teller Vamshi Paidipally with actress Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead part. The movie was tagged with mixed reviews from both critics and audience alike. But the entertainer managed to do a decent business. The actor has now put that behind him, and is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film titled Leo. Actress Trisha Krishnan will be portraying the female lead part. After a long gap of 10 years actress Trisha Krishnan is once again paired with actor Vijay. Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj who had previously directed Vijay in Master is helming the entertainer. He has sought the assistance of writers Rathna Kumar, and Deeraj Vaidy to write the script of Leo. The drama which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony earlier this year is in the final stage of shoot.
Actor Vijay recently celebrated his birthday. Taking to the special occasion the production house has unveiled a lyrical video of the song titled ‘Naa Ready’ on social media. Musician Anirudh Ravichander himself has dropped the lyrical video. Taking to his official twitter handle, the musician dropped a link to the lyrical video of Naa Ready from Leo with the caption, “Naa Ready. Kondaadi kolutharom di. Thalapathy Vijay sir nuclear blast. Singer Anirudh Ravichander and Vijay have lent their voices for the song. Lyricist Vishnu Edavan has written the lyrics of the track. Rapper Asal Kolaar has penned and performed the rap bit in the track. The lyrical video has enjoyed a great reception among the audience, and has clocked millions of views in a short period. Aficionados of the star are elated, and have massive expectations on the film. Leo is billed as a gangster flick which will have actor Vijay in different getups. Story teller Lokesh Kanagaraj had revealed in a recent interview that the movie will have some high-octane action movies. The drama is shot with a massive budget of 300 crores.
Apart from actors Vijay, and Trisha Krishnan, Leo has Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt of KGF 2 fame playing a baddie. The casting division of the entertainer has actors Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy Master, Mathew Thomas, Babu Antony, Mano Bala, Janany Kunaseelan, George Maryan, Abhirami Venkatachalam, and Kathir depicting various other supporting parts. After Master and Beast music director Anirudh Ravichander has teamed up with actor Vijay for the third time for a project. Cinematographer G K Vishnu has been shouldering the camera for the venture. Editor Ruben will take care of the editing department of the flick. Art director N Sathees Kumar will be designing the background for the drama. Action choreographers Anbariv duo will be choreographing action blocks for the project. The flick is bankrolled by S. S. Lalit Kumar along with Jagadish Palanisamy for the production company Seven Screen Studio.
On the work front, actor Vijay who was last seen in Varisu has essayed a cameo role in superstar Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan which is filmed by Atlee with actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in lead roles. The actor will soon join the sets of film maker Venkat Prabhu for their upcoming entertainer tentatively christened as Thalapathy 68. On the other hand, actress Trisha Krishnan who had her last outing in Ponniyin Selvan 2 is currently busy with her next movie The Road crafted by storyteller Arun Vaseegaran in which she will be co starring with actor Shabeer Kallarakkal, and a Malayalam flick titled Ram: Part 1 directed by Jeethu Joseph in which she will be collaborating with actors Mohanlal, and Indrajith Sukumaran. Apart from these movies, the actress has Sathuranga Vettai 2 scripted by director N V Nirmal Kumar in which she has shared screen space with actor Arvind Swamy in the shelf awaiting release.
