Actor Arun Vijay last graced the silver screens earlier this year in the action drama Vanangaan helmed by story teller Bala with actresses Ridha and Roshini Prakash in the female lead roles. The Oh My Dog star is now getting ready for the release of his next action thriller drama christened Retta Thala. Director Kris Thirukumaran, who garnered the attention of audiences with his films like Maan Karate and Gethu, has inked and crafted the flick.
Actresses Siddhi Idnani of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu fame and Tanya Ravichandran of Rasavathi fame will be seen playing female leads in the entertainer. The shoot for the movie was wrapped by the end of last year. Actor Arun Vijay had hosted the team of Retta Thala to a Biriyani feast on the last day of shoot. The production unit has now dropped the first single from the album on social media.
Taking to their official X handle, the production team of BTG Universal shared a lyrical clip of the song Kannamma from Retta Thala and captioned it, “Lose yourself in love! Arun Vijay’s Retta Thala. Magical melody Kannamma sung by the one and only Dhanush K Raja sir is streaming now. Produced by Bobby Balachandran, BTG Universal. Directed by Kris Thirukumaran. A Sam C S’s musical. Actor Dhanush K Raja has lent his voice for the song. Interestingly, actor Arun Vijay has shared screen space with the star in their upcoming release Idly Kadai. Music director Sam C S has handled musical instruments for the movie. He has also written lyrics for the track. The number is mixed and mastered by Balu Thankachan.
Apart from Arun Vijay, Siddhi Idnani, and Tanya Ravichandran, Retta Thala also has actors Hareesh Peradi, Nitish Nirmal, John Vijay, Bigg Boss fame Balaji Murugadoss, Yog Japee, Yogesh Samy, and Vincent Ashokan playing various supporting roles. The project has been shot in and around the surroundings of Chennai, Tharangampadi, Pondicherry, and Goa. The makers are currently working to freeze a date to bring the film to theaters. An official announcement regarding the release date is expected to be made soon.
Cinematographer Tijo Tomy has worked on the cinematography division of the venture. Editor Anthony has been bestowed with the responsibility to chop and patch the drama. Action directors Anbu and Arivu have choreographed action moves for the movie. Art director Arun Shankar Durai has erected sets for the venture. Retta Thala is backed by Bobby Balachandran under the production banner BTG Universal.
On the work front, actor Arun Vijay is eagerly expecting the release of the much-anticipated film of the year Idly Kadai directed and headlined by actor Dhanush with actresses Nithya Menen, and Shalini Pandey as female leads. Apart from this movie, the Chekka Chivantha Vaanam star has his long-delayed dramas Agni Siragugal helmed by director Naveen in which he will be seen alongside actors Vijay Antony & Akshara Haasan, and Borrder crafted by Arivazhagan in the trunk waiting for release.
On the other hand, actress Siddhi Idnani is awaiting the release of her long-delayed entertainer titled Nooru Kodi Vaanavil filmed by story teller Sasi in which she has romanced actor Harish Kalyan. Actress Tanya Ravichandran is engaged in her future untitled project helmed by Manikandan in which she will be costarring with actors Jiiva and Amyra Dastur, and BP 180 scripted by JP in which she will be collaborating with actors Bhagyaraj and Aruldoss.
