Actor Jiiva had his last outing in the horror action thriller Aghathiyaa: Angels vs Devil crafted by story teller Pa Vijay with actors Arjun and Raashii Khanna in lead roles. The Varalaru Mukkiyam actor is presently engaged in his next romantic comedy flick tentatively titled Jiiva 47. Director M Rajesh, who has regaled audiences to comedy entertainers like Boss Engira Bhaskaran, and All In All Azhagu Raja, has written and is directing the movie.
Actress Ivana of Love Today fame has been roped in to play the female lead role in the movie. The shoot for the project is currently underway in a specially developed village-style set in Chennai. Now we have news that the film has been christened Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan. The production house themselves has announced the news on social media.
Taking to his official X profile, actor Jiiva himself shared the link to the title announcement video and wrote, “The “SMS” vibe returns . . . Thrilled to share the title promo of my next Jiiva 47 with M Rajesh & Yuvan Shankar Raja. Produced by Malik Streams Corporation. I need all your love and support. Three minutes of odd announcement video begins in Dubai with musician Yuvan Shankar Raja arriving in a limo at hotel Baraak. He casually walks into the restaurant where he is intruded by Jiiva and Rajesh dressed as sheikhs. They mouth the popular dialogue from Siva Manasula Sakthi, ‘Mutton kuskava’.
Yuvan Shankar Raja asks them, “What getup is this?” To which Rajesh responds, “The producer informed me that you are in Dubai. And asked me to approach you with the vibe matching yours.” He retorts, “I can only laugh at you in this costume, not compose songs.” He requests them to change their outfit. To which Jiiva says, “That is impossible bro. Because we are not wearing a single piece of clothing inside.”
A fun convo ensues when Yuvan Shankar Raja enquires Rajesh, “People are asking whether it is SMS 2 in the comments section.” To which Rajesh denies and Jiiva chimes in, “It is a film on SMS vibe.” Rajesh intrudes, “You can say it is in the SMS universe.” Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan is said to be about a happy go lucky man whose life turns topsy-turvy after he gets into a relationship.
Director M Rajesh made his debut in Tamil cinema by directing actor Jiiva in Siva Manasula Sakthi. The project went on to be a runaway hit. He has teamed up with actor Jiiva after more than 15 years. The expectation for the venture has skyrocketed among the fans of the duo.
Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan also comprises popular YouTubers Sudhakar Jayaraman, Gopi Aravindh, and Ramya Ranganathan. The casting unit is currently zeroing in on the rest of the cast that will be part of the project. Cinematographer M Sukumar is overseeing the cinematography department of the movie.
Editor Ashish Joseph has been brought on board to chop and patch the entertainer. Art director Hasini Pavithra is engineering sets for the project. Stunt director Abishek Srinivas is choreographing action blocks for the venture. Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan is produced by Dato Abdul Malik under the production company Malik Streams Corporation.
On the work side, actor Jiiva is eagerly anticipating the release of his upcoming drama Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil filmed by Nithish Sahadev in which he has partnered with actress Prathana Nathan. On the other hand, actress Ivana is presently shooting for her future Telugu entertainer Selfish scripted by director Kasi Vishal in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Racha Ravi and Ashish Reddy.
