Actor Jai is one of the busiest artists of Tamil cinema with perpetually having a bunch of projects in his kitty. The actor who had a last outing in Veerapandiyapuram is gearing up for the release of his next entertainer christened Pattampoochi. He has teamed up with actor Sundar C for the project. Director Sunder C who had been directing films has once again returned to acting. The production unit had previously set the release date of the flick to be May 13th of this year. But due to unknown reasons the flick did not hit the theaters. Now, we have an update on the release date.
There is news that the venture is poised to hit the screens on 24th of June this month. The trailer of the film was dropped online a couple of months back. It enjoyed a great reception among the audience and has clocked millions of views. Pattampoochi is the cat and mouse game between a serial killer and an upright police officer who is on the chase to track him down. Actor Sundar C is the cop, and actor Jai plays the serial killer. Actor Jai has shifted gears for the first time in his career to essay an antagonist part. It will be interesting to see how he has fared in the switch.
Director Badri, former assistant of Sunder C who made films like Veerappu and Thillu Mullu has directed the drama. Apart from actors Sundar C and Jai, Pattampoochi has actress Honey Rose of Singam Puli fame in the female lead part. The casting of the flick has actors Imman Annachi and Manasvi essaying vital roles. The music for the entertainer has been composed by music director Navneeth Sunder. Cinematographer E. Krishnasamy has cranked the camera for the movie. The editing division of the flick has been taken care of by editor Fenny Oliver. The project is funded by actress and Sunder C’s wife Kushboo under their home production house Avni Telemedia.

On the work front, actor Sunder C who was last seen in the horror comedy Aranmanai 3 is currently busy shooting for the sequel of his superhit crime drama Thalai Nagaram under the direction of story teller V. Z. Dhorai in which he will be sharing the screen space with actress Palak Lalwani, and for One 2 One filmed by director K Thirugnanam in which he will be seen alongside actress Ragini Dwivedi. Apart from these movies, the actor has Vallaan helmed by Mani Seiyon in which he has romanced actresses Tanya Hope, Chandhini Tamilarasan, Hebah Patel, and Abhirami Venkatachalam getting shaped in the post production for release.
On the other hand, actor Jai who was last seen on screens in Veerapandiyapuram is currently busy shooting for Breaking News helmed by filmmaker Andrew Pandian in which he has co starred with actress Bhanu Sree, for Yenni Thuniga under the direction of S. K. Vettri Selvan in which he will be romancing actress Athulya Ravi, for Coffee With Kaadhal filmed by storyteller Sundar C in which he has shared the screen space with actor Jiiva, and for an untitled venture which is directed by film maker Gopi Nainar. Apart from these projects, the actor has untitled ventures with directors Atlee, Robin Venkatesan, Suseenthiran, and Ramkumar Loganathan in his pipeline getting planned in the pre-production stage.
