Actor Atharvaa Murali has been in a dry run for a long time. But the actor has a handful of projects in his pipeline to write an end to his dry spell. The Chandi Veeran actor was last seen on screens in the mass sport action entertainer Pattathu Arasan which hit the theaters under the direction of director A Sarkunam with actress Ashika Ranganath in the female lead part. The movie did not live up to the expectations of the audience. As a result, it fell flat in the box office. But the Kuruthi Aattam actor has put that behind him, and is getting ready for the release of his upcoming project christened Thanal. Debutant director Ravindra Madhava has crafted the entertainer. The flick which went on floors some time ago is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage getting shaped for release.
Now, the production house has shared the first look poster of the film on social media. Actor Vijay Sethupathi has shared the poster. Taking to his official twitter account, the actor dropped the first look poster of Thanal, and wrote, “Happy to share Thanal first look. Congrats team.” Here is the tweet made by the actor.

The first look poster has actor Atharvaa in black and white with clean shaven look. Speaking to a leading media house about the movie, director Ravindra Madhava said, “Thanal is a mass action drama that deals with how a painful situation turns a man into a hero, and another into a villain. Actor Ashwin Kakumanu will be playing the antagonist in Thanal.” Explaining about how he cast actor Atharvaa Murali, he stated, “I never had anyone else in mind for the role. Even while penning the story. When I approached Atharvaa Murali, and narrated the script to him, he liked it very much, and agreed to be a part of it. The flick will be a wholesome commercial drama. I am sure the audience will have a great time watching it.” It is said that the production house is in plans to bring the film to theaters in the month of march this year.
Apart from actor Atharvaa Murali, Thanal has actress Lavanya Tripathi depicting the female lead part. The casting division of the entertainer has actors Ashwin Kakumanu, Sha Ra, Pradeep Vijayan, Selva, Barani, Azhagam Perumal, Bose Venkat, Lakshmi Priya, Bhaarath, Thoufiq, and Sarvhaa in various other supporting roles. Music director Justin Prabhakaran will be composing music for the drama. Cinematographer Shakthi Saravanan has cranked cameras for the venture. Editor Kalaivanan has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the flick. Art directors Videsh and S Ayyappan have designed the background for the drama. Stunt master R Shakthi Saravanan has choreographed action blocks for the movie. The entertainer is bankrolled by M John Peter under the banner house Annai Film Production.
On the work front, actor Atharvaa Murali who had his last outing in the likes of Sport action-drama Pattathu Arasan is currently busy shooting for his next project titled Othaikku Oththa under the direction of story teller Barnesh in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Vidya Pradeep. There are talks that the actor is set to replace actor Suriya in director Bala’s Vanangaan. Apart from these projects, the actor has Nirangal Moondru helmed by storyteller Karthick Naren in which he will be seen alongside actors Rahman and Sarath Kumar, Address crafted by film maker Raja Mohan in which he has collaborated with actor Essaki Bharath, and Rukkumani Vandi Varudhu scripted by director Raja Mohan in which he has romanced actress Pooja Jhaveri, in various stages of post-production getting refined for release.
