Actor Vetri Sudley who ventured into Tamil cinema through the critically acclaimed film 8 Thottakkal, followed it with the impressive thriller flick Jiivi. Both entertainers helped the actor gain prominence among Tamil cinema audiences. The Jothi actor was last seen on screens in the action thriller Memories which hit the theaters under the direction of storyteller Syam Praveen with actress Parvathy Arun in the female lead part. The movie did not live up to the expectations of the audience, and has had tepid response. The actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his next flick christened Red Sandal. Director Guru Ramaanujam has penned and directed the entertainer. The project which went on floors a while back with a small pooja ceremony, is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage getting shaped for release.
The production house has now dropped the teaser of the entertainer on social media. Music director Sam C S has unveiled the teaser. Taking to his official twitter handle, the music director shared a poster for the drama along with the link to the teaser of Red Sandal and wrote, “Interesting teaser from Vetri Sudley’s Red Sandal is out. One-minute teaser cut opens in a police station, and introduces actor Vetri Sudley who says, “Sir, I’ll confess. My name is Prabhakaran. Age: 25. I come from Vyasarpadi, Chennai.” We then witness the actor training as a boxer. Subsequently, we have a voiceover of a female, “Not sure where he went. But I have a doubt that he must be in Renigunta.” The visual has the actor sleeping in the wilderness. We then see a cop getting hold of redwood during inspection. Followed by a person asking, “Even though you know it is a crime, why did you pick this job?” The shot then cuts to a cop enouncing, “They are just puppets. We need to capture their master, who pulls their strings.” The teaser ends with a cop ordering, “Hereafter, not one soul from Tamil Nadu should come here to cut down trees.” From the teaser one could gauge that the drama is about the illegal trafficking of redwood.
Red Sandal is based on true life events. It is said that the production house is eyeing to bring the film to the theaters for this year’s summer holidays. Apart from actor Vetri Sudley, Red Sandal has actress Diya Mayuri essaying the female lead role. Actor Ram of KGF fame will be playing the baddie. The casting division of the drama has actors MS Baskar, Ganesh Venkat Raman, Kabali Vishvanth, Vinod Sagar, Marimuthu, Ravi Venkat Raman, and Abhi in various other supporting roles. Music director Sam C S will be handling musical instruments for the project. Cinematographer Suresh Bala has shouldered cameras for the venture. Editor Richard Kevin has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the movie. Art director Saravanan has erected sets for the drama. Stunt master Miracle Micheal has choreographed action moves for the flick. The drama is bankrolled by J Partha Sarathy under the banner house JN Cinemas.
On the work front, actor Vetri Sudley who was last seen on screens in Memories is currently busy shooting for Theenkirai crafted by director C Sivam Prakash Raghavadass in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Aadhira Panilakshmi, for Kannagi scripted by director Yashwanth Kishore in which he will be collaborating with actresses Keerthi Pandian, and Vidya Pradeep, for Bumper under the direction of story teller M. Selvakumar in which he will be co starring with actress Shivani Narayanan, and for an untitled film crafted by director Shaams.
