Actor Vemal lastly entertained audiences in the action-comedy drama Desingu Raja 2 directed by Ezhil with actress Pujita Ponnada in the female lead role. The Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai actor is now getting ready for the release of his upcoming rural drama christened Mahasenha. Debutant story teller Dhinesh Kalaiselvan has penned and directed the venture.
Actress Srushti Dange of Vil Ambu fame is set to make her come back to silver screen nearly after two years with her female lead role in the project. Bollywood actor Kabir Duhan Singh has played the antagonist part in the entertainer. The film was shot across multiple areas in Ooty, Kollimalai, Gudalur, and Wayanad. The production house has already publicized that the movie will be releasing worldwide on 12th of December. They have now unveiled the trailer of the drama on social media.
Taking to their official X account, the team of Saregama South dropped a special poster from the drama along with a link to the trailer of Mahasenha and captioned it, “Witness The Relentless Spirit in their Hearts! Mahasenha Trailer is Officially Out Now! The nearly three minutes long trailer of Mahasenha opens to the voiceover of an old man, “The enmity between people that inhabits the top and bottom of Yazhi Mountain began 3000 years ago due to Yazhieswarar.” The shot cuts to a man asking, “There are so many mountains to visit. Why did you pick Yazhi Mountain?” Then we have the intro of actor Vemal, as Mahout riding an elephant.
Subsequently we are introduced to Yogi Babu who is asked by someone, “Are you Suruli?” He retorts, “Do I look like Idhayam Murali? I am Suruli.” The second half of the trailer gets tense when multiple characters embark on a hunt to discover an ancient deity statue.
Actor Vemal being a local villager puts up a fight. In a scene he says, “Did you think it is just a lifeless statue? It is our god with vigor.” He then instructs his fellow villagers, “Nobody will come to save anybody. Me for you, you for me. And our god for us.”
The ensemble cast of the entertainer also includes actors Yogi Babu, John Vijay, Dr. Alfred Jose, Shubhangi Jha, Vijay Siyon, and Mahima Gupta. Music director A Praveen Kumar has scored music for songs in the film. While musician Uday Prakash has composed the background score for the movie. Cinematographer Manas Babhu has been trusted with the cinematography department of the flick.
Editor Nagooran Ramachandran has been roped in to chop and patch the film. Art director V S Dinesh Kumar has fashioned the background for the entertainer. Stunt master Ramkumar has choreographed action moves for the venture. The movie is backed by Dhinesh Kalaiselvan himself under his home label Marudham productions.
On the professional side, actor Vemal is presently focused on his future projects Vadam helmed by V Kenthiran in which he will be romancing actress Sangeetha Kalyankumar, Manjal Kudai directed by Sivam Rajamani in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Shirin Kanchwala, Belladonna scripted by Santhosh Babu Muthusamy, and Vemal 39 crafted by directors Elson Eldhose and Maneesh K Thoppil.
