Actor Vemal who had been away from the industry for a while made his comeback with the web series Vilangu. The Kalavani actor was last seen on screens in Deiva Machan which hit the theaters under the direction of Martyn Nirmal Kumar with actress Neha Jha in the female lead part. The movie opened to mixed reviews from both critics and audience. And has had a dull opening in the box office. Now, the actor has put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his next movie titled Kulasami. Filmmaker Kutti Puli Sharavana Shakthi has written and directed the movie. Actor Vijay Sethupathi has penned dialogues for the flick. The entertainer which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony some time ago, is now wrapped and is in the post production stage. The trailer of Kulasami was recently launched in an event graced by director Ameer and producer Suresh Kamatchi. The production unit has now released the trailer of the drama on social media.

One-minute trailer cut opens to an aerial shot of a boat sailing in sea with the voiceover of actor Vemal, “Animals with five senses will only disturb us, if we disturb them. But you see, no one knows when and what will the animal with six senses do.” Following which we are presented with a few shots of police investigation and criminal activities. The scene then cuts to the introduction of Vemal’s sister saying, “If not for my brother, I could not have achieved all these. My brother is the sole reason for my success.” Actor Vemal is introduced in a simple fashion to his voiceover, “Me and my sister believed everyone in the world.” Then we are presented with a few shots of gravity defying action sequences where we witness actor Vemal breaking bones and leaving henchmen flying. From the trailer one could gauge that the movie deals with sexual harassment where Vemal’s sister seems to be a victim of the heinous crime, and Vemal seeks retribution. The production house has announced that the entertainer will be out in theaters on 5th of May.
Apart from actor Vemal, Kulasami has actress Tanya Hope playing the female lead part. The casting division of the entertainer has actors Bose Venkat, Kutti Puli Sharavana Shakthi, S R Jankid IPS, Vinothini, Mahanathi Shankar, Muthu Pandi, and Jaya Surya depicting various other supporting roles. Music director Zee Star Mahalingam has scored music for the flick. Cinematographer Wide Angle Ravi Chandran has handled cinematography for the venture. Editor Gopi Krishnan has been brought on board to edit the flick. Art director Jayakumar has designed the background for the drama. Action director Kanal Kannan has choreographed action blocks for the entertainer. The venture is bankrolled by Akhilesh Srivastav under the production house MIK Productions. Sanjith Shiva of Sanjith Shiva Studios has bagged the theatrical rights of the venture.
On the work front, actor Vemal who was last seen on screens in the web series Vilangu is currently busy shooting for several flicks concurrently. He is shooting for Enga Pattan Sothu directed by storyteller A. Sarkunam in which he will be collaborating with actress Anicka Vikhraman, for Manjal Kudai crafted by Sivam Rajamani in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Shirin Kanchwala, and for an untitled venture scripted by director Abdul Majith of Thamizhan fame in which he will be seen alongside actor Yogi Babu. Apart from these projects, the actor has Thudikkum Karangal crafted by Velu Doss in which he has co starred with actress Misha Narang, and his long-delayed movie Sandakkari filmed by R. Madhesh in which he has romanced actress Shreya Saran, and Lucky scripted by Prasanth Pandiyaraj in various stages of post-production getting shaped for release.
