Veteran actor Vadivelu and Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil previously delivered a remarkable performance in Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan. Their performance was so good that they became the central characters and carried the film on their shoulders. They are now getting ready to treat audiences to another spectacle in their upcoming movie christened Maareesan.
Malayalam story teller Sudheesh Shankar, who is known for Malayalam films Aarumaname and Villali Veeran will announce his arrival into Tamil cinema with the entertainer. Writer Krishna Moorthy has ideated the story, written dialogues, and shaped the flow of the drama. Maareesan is all set to hit the screens worldwide on 25th of July.
The makers had recently dropped the teaser of the film on social media. Now, they have launched the trailer of the entertainer. Taking to his official X profile, actor Vivek Prasanna shared the trailer of Maareesan and said, “It’s time. It’s here. The Maareesan Trailer is out now! Witness the electrifying Fahadh Faasil x Vadivelu combo like never before! A Yuvan Shankar Raja Musical. Produced by Super Good Films. The two minute trailer of Maareesan opens to an interesting shot of actor Fahadh Faasil in a cinema theater to a voiceover, “Some houses . . . I feel like they are calling me. Those are the only ones I ever break into. I have always wondered how fish that live deep underwater end up as food for cranes soaring in the sky. There is a connection. That connection . . .”
Meanwhile, in the visuals he witnesses actor Vadivelu counting a bundle of cash. He approaches him and asks, “Where do you want to go, sir?” To which Vadivelu replies, “I have a friend in Thiruvannamalai. I will go there.” He then tries to convince him, “Let us go on my bike, sir. Come on, sir. It will be fun.” Then Vadivelu discloses, “I have a memory condition. Alzheimer’s disease.”
Halfway through the trailer actor Vadivelu tells Fahadh Faasil, “Hey . . . we have been riding in the same gear for so long now. Why don’t you change gears?” The trailer ends with him saying, “An unforgettable journey of my life.” To which Fahadh Faasil responds, “Alas, you will forget this too.” To which Vadivelu quips, “If I ever forget it, try some gestures to remind me, like Kamal Haasan in ‘Moondram Pirai’ movie.”
Star cast of Maareesan also includes actors Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, Kovai Sarala, Livingston, P L Thenappan, Saravana Subbiah, Haritha, Telephone Raja, Renuka, and Krishna. Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has handled musical instruments for the drama. Already a number titled ‘FaFa Song’ is out from the album. Cinematographer Kalaiselvan Sivaji has cranked the camera for the movie.
Editor Sreejith Sarang Ali has been brought on board to work on the editing division of the entertainer. Art director Mahendran has fashioned background for the venture. Action master Phoenix Prabu has choreographed action blocks for the project. The flick is bankrolled by veteran producer R B Choudhary under his production label Super Good Films.
On the work front, actor Fahadh Faasil is anticipating the release of his next Malayalam film Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira directed by Althaf Salim in which he has co-starred with actress Kalyani Priyadarshan. Apart from this venture, the Vettaiyan actor is currently focused on his next Malayalam flick Patriot helmed by Mahesh Narayanan in which he will be performing alongside superstars Mammootty, & Mohanlal, Karate Chandran crafted by Roy, and a Telugu project Don’t Trouble The Trouble helmed by Shashank Yeleti.
On the other hand, actor Vadivelu is engaged in his upcoming venture Comedy Cowboy directed by Nalan Kumarasamy.
