Actor Sivakarthikeyan was last seen on screens in the political action drama Parasakthi scripted by Sudha Kongara with actors Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela in the lead roles. The Namma Veettu Pillai actor is now busy shooting for his next film christened Seyon. Director Sivakumar Murugesan, who made his debut with the critically acclaimed drama Thaai Kizhavi, is directing the entertainer. He has also conceptualized the story of the movie.

Actress Bhagyashri Borse of Kaantha fame has been paired with actor Sivakarthikeyan in the project. The makers have already announced October of this year as the release window for the film. The project began shooting with actor Kamal Haasan clapping the clapperboard for the first shot. The production team had recently wrapped the first schedule of shoot in Madurai. Now we have news that the second schedule of the shoot has gone on floor. The makers themselves have revealed the news on social media along with a small clip.

Taking to their official X account, the team of Raaj Kamal Films International shared a small clip of actor Sivakarthikeyan from Seyon and wrote, “Monday and Friday have bloomed. The promo of Seyon, which released earlier, showed a group of people detained in a police station following a fight over a play at the village festival, and ended with Sivakarthikeyan, who leads the festival procession, also being brought in to custody.

Earlier, speaking to a leading daily about the venture, actor Sivakarthikeyan said, “I am very happy to be part of this project.” When enquired about the similarities between Seyon and Kamal Haasan’s Virumaandi he stated, “We are trying to pick what really worked and what the audience enjoyed in Virumaandi, and see if we can inculcate those elements in Seyon.” Speculations linking Seyon and Virumaandi emerged online when fans noted that actor Sivakarthikeyan’s character in the promo closely mirrored the quirky traits of the lead character in ‘Virumaandi’.

Actor Sivakarthikeyan is teaming up for the second time with Kamal Haasan’s production banner following their blockbuster debut in Amaran. Apart from Sivakarthikeyan and Bhagyashri Borse, the casting team of the flick also has actors Raichal Rabecca, Bala Saravanan, Arul Doss, S Danushan, Singampuli, Raj B Shetty, Hello Kandasamy, Rajesh Gopalan, Arun Venjaramoodu, and Seeman in various supporting roles.
