Release Date Of Prithviraj’s Tamil-Malayalam Bilingual Film ‘Gold’ Is Pushed!

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is a familiar face to Tamil audiences. The actor who ventured into Tamil cinema through Kana Kandaen won the hearts of Tamil audience with his natural performance in Mozhi and Satham Podathey. After a short stint in Kollywood the actor began to focus on Mollywood. The Velli Thirai actor was last seen in Tamil in the critically acclaimed drama Kavya Thalaivan which hit the screens back in the year 2014 under the direction of film maker Vasanthabalan. Nearly after a decade actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is set to return to Tamil cinema through his bilingual movie Gold. Actress Nayanthara will be seen in the female lead role in the flick. Director Alphonse Puthren of Premam fame has helmed the movie. The production unit had announced that the entertainer will release on the 8th of this month. Now we have news that the release has been pushed. 

The production house themselves has shared the update on social media. Director Alphonse Puthren has shared the news. Taking to his official twitter account, the director wrote, “Due to work delay on our side “gold” will be released one week after Onam. Please forgive us for the delay caused. Hoping to compensate for this delay through our work when “Gold” releases.” Here is the post made by the story teller.

Gold is a story about a mobile shop retailer who buys a car for a potential wedding alliance. The drama is said to revolve around events that happen in a span of four days. The production unit is yet to fix an official release date. An update regarding the same is expected to be made soon. 

Apart from actors Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara, Gold has actors Ajmal Ameer, Krishna Sankar, Shabareesh Varma, Chemban Vinod Jose, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Mathew, Mallika Sukumaran, Deepti Sati, Baburaj, Lalu Alex, Jagadish, Saiju Kurup, Suresh Krishna, Shammi Thilakan, Abu Salim, Althaf Salim, Prem Kumar, Sudheesh, Idavela Babu, Shebin Benson, Jaffer Idukki, Thesni Khan, Suraj Sathyan, Prabhu, Justin John, Faisal Muhammed, Jolly Moothedan, M. A. Shiyas, Vineeth Thattil David, Sabumon, Sibu Thankachan, Gipson, Sebi Bastin, Maju Mathew, Vijai Suresh, and Shankar Das played various other supporting parts. The cinematography for the flick has been done by cinematographer Anend C Chandran and Viswajith Odukkathil. Music director Rajesh Murugesan has composed the music for the movie. Editor Alphonse Puthren has trimmed the drama. The entertainer is bankrolled by Supriya Menon under the production house Prithviraj Productions along with Listin Stephen for his banner house Magic Frames. 

On the work front, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran who had a last outing in the Malayalam entertainer Theerppu is getting ready for the release of his next Malayalam venture titled Aadujeevitham directed by story teller Blessy in which he has co starred with actress Amala Paul. Apart from this project, the Raavanan actor will soon begin to shoot for his upcoming venture christened Tyson under his own direction. On the other hand, actress Nayanthara is currently busy shooting for her upcoming Tamil venture Connect scripted by Ashwin Saravanan, for her Malayalam project Paattu filmed by Alphonse Puthren in which she has collaborated with actor Fahadh Faasil, for her Telugu drama Godfather helmed by filmmaker Mohan raja in which she will be sharing the screen space with superstars Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan, and for her debut Bollywood flick Jawan filmed by director Atlee in which she will be seen alongside actors Vijay Sethupathi and Shah Rukh Khan.
