Tamil Big Boss fame star Mugen Rao had a release back in 2021 in the action-drama Velan which hit the screens under the direction of Kavin with actress Meenakshi Govindarajan in the female lead role. After three years, the Hey Coffeelopher actor is now getting ready for the release of his upcoming fantasy flick christened Jinn – The Pet. Director T R Bala, who previously directed actor Mugen Rao in a musical video, has written and helmed the venture. Actress Bhavya Trikha of Joe fame has essayed the female lead role in the drama. The project which went on floors at the beginning of 2023 has finally been done and dusted. The production house has announced that the entertainer is slated to hit theaters on 30th of May.
The makers have now dropped the trailer of the venture on social media. Taking to her official X handle, actress Bhavya Trikha unveiled a special poster from the movie along with a link to the trailer of Jinn – The Pet and wrote, “Get ready for thrills and chills – Jinn: The Pet trailer is here!!! Gear up for a rollercoaster of horror, romance, action, and humor – The mystery begins now . . . Written and Directed by T R Bala. A Vivek Mervin musical. Produced by T R Bala, Ani Kumar Reddy. Nearly two minutes long trailer of Jinn – The Pet opens to a voiceover telling us the gist of the story, “Hello friends, let me tell you a story. Once upon a time there lived a king, after losing every battle in his life and with the distress of not finding his queen he lived a sad life. Then he came across an evil wizard. To solve all his worries, the wizard gave him a Jinn, locked in a magical box. The Jinn turned out to be his lucky charm and helped him achieve everything he wished for. While the king was enjoying his life. Since the three rules to pet the Jinn were violated it started to trouble everyone in the household. As everyone in the family raised concerns with the king, he thought it was the root cause of all problems and decided to get rid of it. However, that act worsened the whole situation. The malevolent Jinn escaped from the magical box and became a serious threat not only to his family, but to the whole world.”
Apart from Mugen Rao, Bhavya Trikha, and Bala Saravanan, the casting crew of Jinn – The Pet also has actors Nizhalgal Ravi, Nandu Anand, Imman Annachi, Vadivukkarasi, Radha Ravi, Rithvik, George Vijay, and Vinodhini Vaidyanathan playing various supporting characters. The musical department of the project has been handed over to music composers Vivek Mervin duo. Four numbers ‘Kuttyma’, ‘Konjam Pakkam Vaa’, ‘Bore Aana Vaazhka’, and ‘LaLaLa’ are already out from the album. Cinematographer Arun Raja has operated the camera for the movie. Editor Deepak has been handed the editing responsibilities. Art director V S Dinesh Kumar has designed sets for the entertainer. Action director Pradeep Dinesh has choreographed action blocks for the film. Jinn – The Pet is produced by T R Bala under the production label Fairy Tale Pictures partnering with Ani Kumar Reddy and Raghavendra Bellamkonda for the production house AR Touring Talkies.
On the work front, actor Mugen Rao is currently busy shooting for his future ventures Vettri filmed by director Anjana Ali Khan in which he will be romancing actress Anukreethy Vas, Madhil Mel Kaadhal crafted by Anjana Ali Khan in which he will be sharing screen space with actresses Divya Bharathi & Sakshi Agarwal, and Kaadhal Enbathu Saabama helmed by Bala Ganapathi William in which he will be performing alongside actresses Subashini Asokan and Moon Nila.
