Madhoo’s Sweet Kaaram Coffee Trailer: Promises To Be A Wholesome Lighthearted Family Drama!

Veteran actress Madhoo was last seen on screens in a supporting role in the mystery thriller film Dejavu which hit the theaters under the direction of Arvindh Srinivasan with actors Arulnithi, and Smruthi Venkat in the lead roles. The movie opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Thus, it did not do well in the box office. The actress has now moved on, and is gearing up for the release of his upcoming web series titled Sweet Kaaram Coffee in which she has played the lead part. Veteran actress Lakshmi is set to return to Tamil cinema after a long gap through the web series. Actress Santhy has played a vital role in the drama. Directors Bejoy Nambiar, Krishna Marimuthu, and Swathi Raghuraaman have directed the entertainer. Writers Reshma Ghatala, Swathi Raghuraaman, Vinithra Madhavan Menon, and Krishnaswamy Ramkumar have penned the script for the show. The series which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony some time ago is now done and dusted ready to hit Amazon Prime Video OTT video streaming platform.

The production house has now released the trailer of the drama on social media along with its release date. Sweet Kaaram Coffee is slated to hit the OTT platform on 6th of July. Actress Madhoo herself has shared the trailer. Taking to her official twitter account, the actress dropped a link to the trailer of Sweet Kaaram Coffee, and wrote, “Bound by love and fueled by adventure, we are ready to hit the road for the most epic road trip. Trailer out now. Watch Sweet Kaaram Coffee on prime video, July 6.” Here is the post made by the actress.

Nearly three minute long trailer opens with a son asking her mother, “Why are you spending more time on the terrace.” She responds, “I am here. If you pamper me too much, I am not going to be happy. I am craving for the day when I will step out of the house.” The scene cuts to actress Madhoo receiving her son, “Hey Bala dear you are home!” Following which we have a shot where he rudely tells her, “I cannot repeat the story four times. When I narrated it to my father you should have listened.” Then we have a frustrated Santhy talking about her break up, “So it is over. I just want to go. I do not want to be here. A road trip. Just three-hour. We will leave home at midnight.” The trailer has enjoyed a great reception among the audience, and has set high expectations on the project.

Speaking to a leading media house about the series, director Krishna Marimuthu said, “Sweet Kaaram Coffee is about the self-discovery journey of three women characters from different generations of a family facilitated by an inadvertent road trip. It has a beautiful premise. People evolve from time to time. Their family needs to cope with that and adapt to their evolution. Some people are enthusiastic to change, some gradually build courage to accept it, while a few of them scream and fight to understand and accept change. The series beautifully captures these shades through a heartwarming story. In an epoch where there are too many dark and violent dramas being churned out, Sweet Kaaram Coffee occupies great importance. I am sure the audience will love it.”

Apart from actresses Lakshmi, Madhoo, and Santhy, the casting department of the drama has actors Vamsi Krishna, Kavin Jay Babu, Bala Suresh, Dev, Ayesha Giulia Kapur, Alexx O’ Nell, Sampa Mandal, Sriranjini Prabhu, Nrithyunjay Ramu, Samyuktha Vishwanathan, Sameer Malhotra, Athul Prabhakaran, Vivek Rajagopal, and Amrutha Srinivasan portraying various other supporting roles. Music director Govind Vasantha has composed music for the series. Cinematographer Krishnan Vasant has done cinematography for the web drama. Editor Praveen Anthony has been brought on board to edit the show.

On the work front, actress Madhoo who was last seen on screens in Tamil cinema in Dejavu is currently busy shooting for couple of her upcoming Malayalam films titled Ennitu Avasanam under the direction of film maker Emcy Joseph in which she will be seen alongside actors Arjun Ashokan, and Anna Ben, and for a Netflix anthology drama Vilpana helmed by story teller Aswathy Vasudevan in which she will be sharing screen space with actor Asif Ali.
