Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan who made his debut as a director in Tamil cinema with Podaa Podi got the attention of the audience in his sophomore entertainer Naanum Rowdydhaan which hit the screens back in the year 2015 with actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the lead role. The fresh content of the flick had a great reception amidst the audience. The movie opened up to positive reviews and as a result kept the box office rolling. The impact of the film was so high that when an announcement was made that the director will once again be teaming up with the same team for a project, the expectations shot up. With actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu on board it piqued the interest of the young crowd in the state. The title ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ further intensified the expectation level. The production house has unveiled the trailer of the movie on social media. Taking to their official twitter account the production house has shared the trailer of the flick and wrote, “Proudly presenting you the Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal trailer. Trailer of the romance drama promises a fun filled ride. From the trailer one could gather that the entertainer will be in the lines of the director’s previous venture Naanum Rowdydhaan. The trailer does have a few portions of it. Vijay Sethupathi is caught between actresses Nayanthara and Samantha Ruth Prabhu trying to please both. The trailer ends with a funny scene where Nayanthara presents the actor, a cup of tea and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a cup of coffee, the actor pours them together in a bowl and consumes it.
Apart from actors Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Nayanthara, the film has former Indian cricketer S. Sreesanth making his debut in K-town. The casting of the flick has Prabhu, Kala Master, Seema, Redin Kingsley, Lollu Sabha Maaran, and Master Bhargav Sundar essaying various other supporting roles. Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the entertainer. Already three singles ‘Rendu Kaadhal,’ ‘Two Two Two,’ and ‘Naan Pizhai’ from the music album are out and has the audience crooning them. Cinematographers S. R. Kathir and Vijay Kartik Kannan have been behind the camera for the flick. Editor A. Sreekar Prasad has edited the film. The entertainer is funded by Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara under the banner house Rowdy Pictures along with S. S. Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studios.
On work front, actor Vijay Sethupathi who was last seen on screens in Kadaisi Vivasayi is currently busy shooting for Vikram under Lokesh Kanagaraj’s direction alongside actor Kamal Hassan. Following which he will be seen in Viduthalai, Gandhi Talks, Michael, Maamanithan, and Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir. He will be setting foot in Bollywood as well with Mumbaikar under the directorial of Santosh Sivan. On the other hand, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently busy shooting for her Telugu entertainers titled Shaakuntalam and Yoshoda. While actress Nayanthara is gearing up for the release of her Malayalam venture Gold. The actress is currently filming for Connect in Tamil, and a Telugu drama titled Godfather. The actress will also be venturing in to Bollywood this year with Lion.
