Versatile artist G V Prakash Kumar last graced the silver screens in the crime thriller Blackmail scripted by Mu Maran with actresses Teju Ashwini and Bindu Madhavi as female leads. The Selfie actor will soon begin to shoot for his next project christened Happy Raj. Newbie director Maria Raja Elanchezian, former assistant of Pradeep Ranganathan, will open his books as a director in Tamil cinema with the venture. The story credit also goes to him.
Actress Sri Gouri Priya of Lover fame will be seen in the female lead part in the movie. Veteran actor Abbas will be returning to the industry after more than a decade with a prominent role in the flick. Actor G V Prakash Kumar had earlier announced the title of the film on social media, and promised to drop the first look poster soon. As promised, the makers have now launched the first look poster of the flick.
Taking to his official X account, actor Dulquer Salmaan shared the first look poster of Happy Raj and wrote, “Happy Raj is full of chaos – love, laughs, life, all-in-one. The first look poster has actor G V Praksh Kumar in a peak fun mode while there is a scene of bedlam in the background. Earlier speaking to a leading media about why he chose to go with the title, director Maria Raja Elanchezian said, “There is nothing extraordinary behind it. My intent is to craft an entertainer that makes people profoundly happy. Tamil cinema is used to taking audiences to a euphoric state with mass entertainers that induce adrenaline rush. But of late with the advent of social media, I feel there has been unfiltered negativity, and a sense of despair among people.”
He further added, “I felt the need to make a film that would infuse joy and be a counteragent to despair. Even the protagonist in the story is named ‘Happy’. You will hear the name numerous times throughout the film. As it reflects the essence of the plot. I am confident that the audience will experience optimism and have a feeling of positivity when they leave theaters.”
The ensemble star cast of Happy Raj also includes actors George Mariyam, Prarthna, Adhirchi Arun, Sofa Boy Rasool, and Madurai Muthu. Music composer Justin Prabhakaran has been brought on board to work on the musical division of the venture. Cinematographer Madhan Christopher will be handling camera gears for the project.
Editor Selva R K has been roped in to edit the entertainer. Art director Gangappan Murugan will be erecting sets for the drama. Action director Rajasekar will be fashioning action moves for the movie. Happy Raj is bankrolled by Jayavardhanan in affiliation with Jaikanth Suresh under the production label Beyond Pictures.
On the work side, actor G V Prakash Kumar is expecting the release of Adangathey crafted by Shanmugam Muthuswamy in which he has collaborated with actress Surbhi Chandra.
The Kingston star is currently busy with his future drama Immortal helmed by Mariyappan Chinna in which he will be featuring alongside actress Kayadu Lohar, Mental Manadhil directed by Selvaraghavan in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Madhuri Jain, Idi Muzhakkam filmed by Seenu Ramasamy in which he will be associating with actress Gayathrie, and 13 crafted by Vivek K Kannan in which he will be seen alongside actors Bhavya Trikha, Aadya Prasad, and Gautham Vasudev Menon.
