Visaranai Movie Review

Visaranai is one of the most expected movies after ‘Kakka Muttai’ as it has already entered lots of film festivals and so on. The project was funded by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Films. Samuthirakani, ‘Attakathi’ Dinesh and ‘Aadukalam’ Ramdoss essay titular roles. Vetrimaran has directed the movie. The movie was recently screened in screened in 72nd International Venice Film Festival. ‘Kayal’ fame Anandhi has done the female lead. The movie recently got praises from Kamal Haasan and now the big question is does this movie really deserve all those praises ?

Visaranai

The movie is about Pandi (Dinesh) who works in small provision store at Guntur. He stays in a public park whole night with other friends. One morning all four friends were taken away by a bad cop (Ajay Ghosh). And in the station they were subjected to inhuman torture practices by police and the only intention by police is to make these people agree to a crime which they have never done. Police use lots of techniques and each and everything hurts the audience too.

At the same time, another special team headed by Murugavel (Samuthirakani) comes to catch the high profile auditor (Kishore) and the turn of events brings them to court on same day. How Pandi and group interludes with the chennai police team and what happens to them in the court makes the first half. Onc eagain these guys fall in hands of Mind games of politicians and rich people. Definitely this is one of the most hard hitting movies ever made in any language. Each and every scene will make you feel bad.

It shows the brutality of the police and how cruel they can be in order to close a case. The insecurity and helplessness of a poor person was also clearly mentioned. Apart from this, the movie also shows how poor people are being exploited for their own benefits. Every actor has went under the skin of their roles and you just can’t find a mistake anywhere. Take any scene. The cinematography clearly shows the various human emotions with various colours. Vetrimaaran’s screenplay is tight and Editor Kishore has complemented well. GV Prakash’s music was also more attached with the story.

Overall, ‘Visaranai’ is an impactful watch and it is not for the ‘Weak hearted’.
